04 GT Vs 97 Formula
So here I am minding my own business in the highway and a 97 Formula screams by me. It slows down and waits for me to get next to him and starts to rev his engine in neutral. I really didn't care but he kept doing it so we started to race. I waited until I could hear his engine wine after he dropped it into a lower gear and I would punch it. 1st time I beat him to 120 by a car, 2nd time I beat him by half a car, 3rd time I beat him again by 3/4 of a car. Finally he stops and asked me what I had, so I told him and he was like WOW. I looked over at his GF and she was upset. I used to be a Chevy guy and that LT1 sounded stock. I still don't know how I beat him but I guess a win is a win.
i have a 95 formula, m6 and i raced an auto brand new gt. i got him a little off the jump and basically held him at my bumper, but from what i hear our cars are supposed to be about even. all i have is catback. makes from some really fun races. yes i drive a firebird, i'm on the mustang forums to learn not to cause trouble either
I have a Formula as well, but also an old stang. I am driving the Bird to work today, lol. If the GT's are runnin the 13's everyone says they are, then well the LT1's without mods are fair game. There arent too many stock LT1's anymore tho. That kid musta been a tool.. nice kill bro.

Stock LT-1's are supposed to pull a factory rated 285 HP & the Formulas are about 100-200 lb.s lighter than the TA GT's... So.. he must have had one heavy girlfriend.

Generally any Trans Am that doesn't have the WS-6 performance package is considered the GT model.. they came out with them in '94... here are several links to read up on them:

My second Pontiac was a '94 GT and the only thing that seperated it from the WS-6 was the ram-air intake. Course when I slapped a powerdyne in it ... didn't really matter how many ram-air parts were on it.
