I'm definatly aware that a vehicle with this powerplant should wreck shop. What I dont understand is you saying this car can run 11's . The ZO6 has 505bhp and 500lbs of TQ and my estimation 600lbs lighter and runs 11.7's. Not counting that the weight distribution is 50/50. Take a look at the BMW M5 which also has 500bhp (granted the vehicle curb weight is just under 4000lbs) runs 12.6 in QM. I don't think a vehicle weighing just 300lbs less is going to be in the realm of 11's
But I've also heard WAY to many stories of the C6 Z06 and Ford GT running mid to low elevens stock, with a mega good driver. You also have to consider that both the Z06 and M5 have IRS and built for a road course, or "The Twisties" during regular driving. I see the GT500 being built for the drag strip. Why else would Ford keep the solid axle in it? Because it helps the mustang go down the quarter faster.

My predictions: Mid to low twelves on average, a killing machine from a roll, average driver. High elevens- 12.0xxs with an above average driver.

The new Z06 can actually run low 11s pretty easily. There was one at the local track here that ran 11.2@127 stock. The other thing about the the GT500 is that it is probably underrated by a bit. The 03 and 04 Cobra was rated 390 but usually made 360+ to the wheels stock. The GT500 will probably make 450ish whp which would put low 12s easily and on rare occasion high 11s. The Z06 makes 440ish whp so the GT500 will probably make about 10 more hp to the wheels but weigh 700 lbs more. It definitely won't be as fast as the new Z06 stock for stock.

I think the new GT500 will be a beast, but it won't live up to the 03/04 Cobra 'beastiness'. Yeah, it'll be faster stock, but I'm pretty sure, it's not nearly so overrated. I'm guessing anywhere from 420rwhp-450rwhp stock. Mid 12s with a good driver, low 12s with the FREAK 11.9 with a great driver. 11s should be a few bolt-on's away just as 10s are a few bolt-ons away for the Z06. Intake, exhaust, gears, tires. Hell, I've heard of 10.9s on the ZO6 with just DRs, so the GT500 should be a consistent high 11-second car with DRs, but stock, I think 11s will be freak.

Sounds pretty reasonable to me SSteele and 757GT. I guess I'll be having my hands full with my C6. But since I'm already in the realm of mid 12's perhaps it should not be that hard to get in the upper 11's to low 12 range. Maybe not difficult but definatly expensive (you mustang guys got a huge advantage over me since youre able to get a lot of extra mod power for less money).

Yeah, the blown Mustangs are easy to mod because you are just a pully swap away from even more power. Your vette offers incredible power for stock. Mid 12s stock is very impressive.

There is no way an average guy can get in a gt500 and run an 11.6. As a matter of fact, there is no way an average guy could run even close to an 11.2 in the new zo6. Especially since R&T got a 12.2 out of it in their test. The new zo6 is a mid-high 11 sec car, and a low 12 sec car with an 'ok' driver.

I noticed you have an '01 S281. I absolutly think those are the best looking Saleens ever!!! Especially the Speedster (they look so exotic). I wanted to buy one when they were new (Fremont Ford had a white supercharged Speedster for $51K but the down they wanted was (exsessive over $15K with tier 1 credit) too much plus at the time Saleen's warranty was the pits.

300 lbs more so you figure .3 slower which is 12 flat, but it has a solid axle and not a IRS so maybe 11.9, i dont see low to mid 11s though

If someone can't run 11 anything with 450rwhp in a 3000lb car, something is VERY wrong. Don't the new GT500's weigh 4klbs? From what I've read, they're gonna be slow pigs.

**** the LS7....I wanna see a forged LS1 with a power adder in the next Camaro...or even the new ZO6....1000rwhp cars EVERYWHERE!
