Default idiots...

im gonna race a couple of my friends soon, i dont know when...

one of them have a '95 330i modded bmw which have like 220 or 230 hp and i think i could beat him with my v6 auto because of the weight thanks to all of the fancy stuff that bmw put in there... he had a car earlier and it was a camery, so he was being an a$$ and think he'll beat me with that because it has a k&n air filter, i didnt race that because i think thats just so stupid beyond words.

the other was a much more of a idoit, he have a GMC YUKON XL SUV with no mods, and he was bragging that he had a 300hp in it, i kept telling him that i'll beat him because of all of those wieght in it. however i have no idea how the suv acts...

have anyone raced these cars or something similar?

A K&N filter alone is'nt gonna make a difference. If he says he's got 220 hp I don't see him having any significant mods (if any at all). BMW 330's I believe have a 3.0 inline six. I think it should be close.

Hum.... I don't even think that they made 330's in 1995! I think the 330's came along with the E46 body style in 2000. The 95 ///M had a 3.0 liter and i believe the next step down from the M was the 328i with a 2.8 liter producing around 190 hp.

he shouldn't have any problem breaking into 14s once or twice at the track...and i don't see an e36 330 doing too much better than that, again, high 14s and maybe a best run in the 14.50 range. from a dig its def a decent race.

The 330i is E46 chassis(99up), has a 3.0 in it. The 328i even though it says 328 its not a 2.8 its a 2.5, basically the same thing as a 325i. My bros got a 93 325is 5spd, that thing will SMOKE your 3.8, so the 330i should smoke you as well. The E36 (92or93-98) chassis M3 had a 315hp 3.0 in it, its the same motor as the 2.5 just bored out a little bit and a way better intake setup. As for the yukon, that thing weighs like 5000 lbs so you might be able to take that.

e36 m3 motor was a 240hp 3.0. i know almost a dozen people with them. they did not have 315hp, not without SC or turbo, in which case the ones i know put 320-400 at the wheels depending on boost level, and one being built up (was sent to comptech) is shooting for 500 or so rwhp. another one that is built heavily NA puts 300 to the wheels. those model m3's run 14.20s all day with a chip/exhaust, and 14.20-14.50 bone stock, while having a best run or two possibly lower than that. that is referring to the m3, mind you. one of my friends was able to pull a 14.05, but he later found out he had a dinan chip, and when he dyno'd his car had almost 230 at the wheels in it.

the e46 330 would smoke the poster's *4.0L* v6 stang for sure, as would the *333hp* e46 m3 that can run low-mid 13s stock. but im pretty sure we were talkin bout e36 here, so it, again, should be a close race with the 330 having a ever-so-slight advantage
