crazy srt-4!
I went to the track yesterday night and on my way in i saw an srt-4 come in on a trailer and im like this guy cant be serious..a trailer lol anyway later that night i finally saw him in the staging lane next to a vette like 99 vette done up and the come up do there burnout and this litte srt-4's turbo sounds bigger than the motor it just roasts the tires. then they stage and i bet my buddy a dollar that the vette would take him. and hes like alright that srt-4 is gonna kill it. anyway they hit on the greenlight and the srt-4 is poppin and make noise all sill and then it just takes off. they were lookin pretty even the whole way down. and im think damn i hope the vette dont lose and the the numbers show up the srt-4 ran an 11.60 something and the vette went 11.30 something i was like yes i won a dollar!...lol but that srt-4 was still holdn its own for what they are i was impressed there was a bunch of other cool races but i dont feel like typin all do.lol
Wow, that's a very fast SRT. Considering they run about a 14.0 stock. What was his trap speed? I bet it was faster than the Vette's! The Stg 1,2, and 3 from Mopar are awesome for that car. My buddy just got the stg 2 and his car is much faster than stock.
i cant remember the trap speed, but i found out that the corvette was sparying nitrous so thats kinda sad for a vette. but yeah that srt-4 had slicks on the front and everything. he had a carbonfiber hood that looked pretty cool too.
There are quite a few quick SRT-4's out here in the Inland Empire(San Bernardino,Ca). I doubt many are anywhere near stock anymore; I'm a regular at a shop's "Dyno Day" & half the cars are SRT-4s(other half being Mustangs). Most dyno in the 260-300 front wheel horsepower range...... One is over 500 but seems to break if'n you so much as look at it wrong.....
stage 2 srt4 ran a best of 13.28 IIRC the one time i saw one at my track. trap was 111, and he had slicks up front. he was braggin like no other the entire night though, which kinda pissed me off cuz thats what ALL srt owners in sacramento seem to do all the time. plus, my worst run of the night was about even with his second-best. i was still kind of impressed though. 11.60s is NUTS of 2.4L 4 banger!
i have NEVER in person seen an SRT4 that impressed me at my track. i dont kno if they cant get traction or what but the fastest one i have ever seen was a 9.4 (1/8th mile) and that was a stage 2 model. The guy ran last night as a matter of fact. best run 9.5XX and then be broke a motor mount or something and had to be towed away. A nice 04 KB Cobra had to get flatbedded too, he messed up his rear end
i am impressed at how they run for stock... but i know this kid who claimed he bought it from dealer and it could run low 13s as is.. then hes done stuff to it... i was like OK... let me see this... so were at the track.. kids BROTHER drives the damn car and gets like 13.9.. the damn kid couldnt even drive his own car... they couldnt break like 13.7 all night... all his freinds are impressed by his car and how his side exhaust can make this little 1/4th inch flame come out(side exhaust) when he redlines it... i just sat there and was liek ... thats it? all that talk and thats it? now i hear even more crap about it... i hate those stupid *** cars.... so gay...
o well.. whataya gunna do

I wish the Cobalt market would hurry up and get to the level of the SRT-4's.
The fastest Cobalt SS/SC so far is running 12.8 @ 110mph with a 2.6" pulley Corsa exhaust and a complete tune using HP Tuner software.

The 2007 Pontiac Solstice GXP will have a 260hp\260tq 2.0T that might be fun to play with......
