i went to the strip friday and my buddy bill came out in his modded 03 cobra. on the first run of the day we get selected to run each other. he pulled a 2.16 60' to my 1.82. i had him good through all of my gears until the crappy 4th gear slow down. end result:
bill 12.67@112mph
me 12.96@105 mph

i beat the clock and got into the 12's on my first run of the season but lost to bill when he drove around me in 4th. that was his best 60' ever but his second fastest e.t. he ran 12.4 last year. my next run i pulled a 1.78 60' but missed second gear. i think i could have done a little better. on my third run i got another 1.8 60' but when i engaged second i heard the dreaded subaru thunk. i broke second gear but still ran 13.1@104. thats the last time my ride ever saw second. i drove her home though. next up...bigger turbo, injectors, intercooler, stronger gears and clutch, and rear end.

note: i got into the 12's with stock turbo, ic, gears, clutch, fw, pulleys, tires (snow rated all-seasons) with a 4 cylinder!

Glad to hear you made it home! Now that you've found the "weakest link" what will be the next thing to go? Met a guy at the local track Saturday who was 75 miles from home and he broke an axle in his car, don't know what he did to get home and it was raining on top of all that!

 

im trying to source a stock tranny to hold me over but i may just opt for stronger sti ver.6 gears. im not too worried, i still have my dodge neon and my ninja 600r. transportation is not an issue. i probably wont drive it again until the turbo, ic, and injectors go in. cant come back running high 12's ya know!

 

Assuming a 98% drivetrain loss, you'll be pusing around 2hp to each wheel, slightly more than iwrxit, so maybe, just maybe a 12 second pass.
