5.0 Vert vs. 4.6
I thought a 5.0 foxbody style vert would beat a 97 Mustang GT stock vs. Stock. I recently raced one in a stock 97 Gt and smoked the 5.0. The car i raced isnt the one in my sig.
My father owns an '88 GT convertible with an automatic. He's had it since new, and it only has 16,000 miles on it, plus a pair of flowmasters. We recently took it to the track out of curiosity about what it would run and managed a best of only about 15.24 @ 91 mph. The biggest problem was that he couldn't hold the car in second beyond 4800 rpm, which killed the mph...
Anyway, they're fast cars but they are quite beatable, especially with an auto (and what convertible doesn't have an auto?
).

Well, my '88 LX vert is a 5 speed. Not sure how relevant it is in these yesterday/today bench racing sessions, but the only car of the day that could hold its own against me stock for stock was the vette. I would cream them off the line, but they usually would beat me at the top end.
