Getting squared away for the track tomarrow..........
After the fiasco last time with my Mickey Thompson ET Streets, im going back tomarrow to try to figure them out. After talking with some ppl on this forum, turns out i Need a higher stall converter for my Auto tranny in order to take full advantage of their Potential. Last time i went i tried every PSI between 15-28 and the best 60ft i came up with was a 2.2! Ran a total of 18 times, no luck whatsoever. Engine bogs down, burnouts are nearly impossible. On the other hand, On stock street tires at 30 psi (60fts got crappier the more air i let out) i was able to cut a 2.07 60ft and did the 1/8th in 8.88@ 80.89 MPH. So with that being said, i think it will be best to use them as regular street tires as follows...
2002 GT AUTO.......275/40 MT ET streets on stock bullitt rims..
1.) Around Water box
2.) no heavy burnout , just enough to clean them off
3.) PSI around 30
4.) Normal launch, as with street tires (foot on break , foot on gas , green light, foot off break stomp gas
)
i dont expect to be cutting 1.7 60 fts here but i would like to be at 2.0 consistantly. On street tires i can usually do 2.1's consistantly so i assume the MT ET streets are a little better. So what do u guys think, comments? suggestions?

yea, i was one of the people who suggested trying them w/o a burn out.. strategy sounds good to me man.
good luck, i'd love to see you run some 1.9's, that'd be great for an auto with no aftermarket stall
(by the way, i didnt know you had 2!!!!! '69 Machs.. you my friend, are one disguisting bastard)

its a freaking 428 man.. lol..
my goal is to get a '70 Mach 1 with a 4V 351 Cleveland before im 30, and since my dad wants a '69 to go along with his '72. Hopefully we'll have 3 down and just '71 and '73 to go before we've got the 5 Mach 1's that really count
(i think there were some in 74-78, and of course '03,'04)

18 runs in 1 night?!?! wtf Let your car cool off! that could be part of the problem. If you hot lap your car so many times, it will get slower. Also calling BS on the Camaro. A real SS 396 car even a rusted out pile of **** would sell for well over 6g's
haha call BS if you choose
, but i will tell the story anyhow. My cousin got it back in the 80's when he was like 16 off someone, He stored it at my aunts house ever since. He has since gotten married and moved to Ohio with his wife and kids and cannot afford to restore it or anything. My aunt who lives in Liverpool NY wants the car out of her garage because its been sitting for 20 years. My cousin needs a new washer and dryer for his new house. SO, he asked me if i wanted the car, i said yes, he said buy me my washer and dryer and its yours, SO the total is probably going to come to about 800 bucks.......... I am going to store it at my dad's house near Ithaca NY where he has 5 heated garages (former owner was a car collector). It will sit along side both 1969 Machs and a 1932 Fire truck that the former owners left behind 11 years ago beacuse the man died before he could move it, the wife went into a nursing home and the kids had no interest
