Default Track Rules ?

I am under the impression that if you run 11.99 or below that you have to have a cage. But someone told me that since my car is a vert with a S/C I will need a cage at the track, is that true? I really don't expect my car to run any better than mid 12's, and thats after some serious practice.

convertibles that run 13.99 and faster need to have at minimum a roll bar.

is the track NHRA or IHRA?

i believe that both require a cage for 11.49 or faster for hardtops, and i cant find the damn amount for the verts...i found one site that says that the 2006 revision includes a cage requirement for any car running better than 8.59 in the 8th.

so yes, youre gonna need a rol bar..i think 6 point.

i know that it used to be 13.99, but i thought that there was a rule revision since there are so many stock cars that run much better than 13s..like vettes, vipers, stangs, etc.

well when they changed the new rules to 11.49 on hardtops I think the convertible's were lowered to 13.49 either way I can say for Certain thing faster then 13.49 is a definite YES in a vert

i cant find my damn rulebook, and i know that there is one in PDF format somewhere online, i just cant find it...
either way, if his car runs like it should, he should need a roll bar.

my advice, tell them that its slow, and make your one run a good one.

The local track is sanctioned by NHRA, I am under the impression that they are pretty relaxed about the tech inspection, so as long as I go out and run high 12's low 13's I was thinking they would leave me alone. I have no track experience so I'm not expecting to really get the most out of my car it's first time out.

Well since the number one thing I want to work on are my 60's, if I practice jumping out of the hole and then just let off when I get going so I have like a 8.5-9 1/8 and a 15 second quarter, will I get thrown out because it's obvious that I am holding back, or as long as it doesnt run below 13.49 everything is cool? And then when I think I have it down, go ***** out on the last run? I live an hour- to an hour and a half away from the closest track so I don't want just 1 run.

if you go out and run a high 13 with an awful short time, or run a great short time and coast through the top end, they might not give you a hard time, but i cant imagine letting off...lol

i have a hard time lifting when im bracket racing...

11.49 for hard tops, 12.49 per vert if it has factory bar, 13.49 without factory bar per NHRA 2006 rule revisions.
