what are nissan sentra v-specs like? what kinda numbers do they put out, 1/4 times, etc. this kid has one and wants to race my friend who has a mazda mx-6 with the 2.5L v6 whos got the upper hand?

 

which v-spec is it ?? the se-r v-spec, or the sentra v-spec ? one has the 1.8, and one has the 2.5. i kno the older ones were either 160 or 180hp. i say drivers race. with the Sentra having the upper hand due to MAYBE less weight.

slick as **** 6 speed.


downsides: heavy car, 2900 lbs.

It'll be good for mid 15s or so... The mx6 with the 160 hp KL03 really doesn't stand a chance.

the spec-v are crap from a dig. tell your friend to rave from a dig. my buddy had i/h/e and cams and the best ¼ time he could pull was a 15.2, from a roll its a different story. they are very fast from a 20 roll.

 

It is tricky to launch. 17" rims, and 180 ft lbs of torque make it torque steer like mad, but you just have to learn how to feather out and drop the clutch at the same time. (sounds difficult, but I figured it out in the week I had the car). The LSD will help take care of wheel spin for you, all you got to do is not hit fuel cut off and keep the car on the road.

 

i think they do suck from a dig. my friend had one and would never race me from a dig, only from a roll.

 

I had an 02 and with intake, header and a 50 shot of juice I was able to beat a 03 GT. Not super impressive, but not bad either.

 

I had an 04 ser spec-v with headers, exhaust(non-fart can), CAI, 350Z throttle body! With just those mods it can run right beside my 06 GT, i cant beat it by much. Its my brothers now. Watch out for those cars if there modded at all.

 

My wife has an 04 Sentra SE R Spec V and it is pretty quick. The torque steer is a b***h but for a 4 banger it's quick. The LSD helps out alot and the Brembo brakes kick a$$. She pisses off punk a$$ ricers all the time trying to race her when she puts bus lengths on Civics DOHC or SOHC.
