A Cougar? Are you serious? [sm=icon_rofl.gif] Been there, done that, obliterated it.

The Mustang has a 20hp edge, but I'm not sure how much the Cougar weighs, so it could be very close. I do know that the Cougars are FWD, so I would suggest to your buddy a race from a dig. Looks like a driver's race to me.

Next time you should probably be a little better informed before you laugh in someone's face regarding their supposed ignorance. If your buddy loses, you're going to look pretty silly, though I admire your honesty about the whole thing...

I dont know how much slower the auto Cougars are than the manuals, but my wifes friend used to have an 02 Cougar with v6 and manual, and she ran it at the track stock and ran a 9.9.

Those older cougars were available with s/c, basically the same as the thunderbird s/c.

no contest the stang will murder it, my best friend has an 03' V6 and we have run into these things several times. Another friend of mine has a cougar, not sure the year maybe an 02? (latest body style) V6. I smoked it in my ma's 03' Olds Aurora V6

Yep, that's right. My girl drives an '02 V6 Cougar, Auto. It is pretty peppy, but I haven't drove a V6 Stang so I don't know.
