First time at the track
Hey guys here is the #'s from my third run down the 1/4 mile. This was my best run of the day. Any help would be apprecaited.
Altitude was 5800 Feet
Temp 84
Relative Humidity 100
Barometer 23.80
R/T .426 - Not my best R/T my best was .038
60' 2.459
330' 6.808
1/8 10.335
mph 69.01
1000 13.392
1/4 15.953
mph 88.85
By the way I have a stock 95 Cobra. Well I have a CAI but that doesn't really count.

you NEED to get that 60' down. are you spinning alot ?? bogging down, what ? if u dont have 'em, id say get some drag radials. SOON.
Edit: your cobra should be a lot faster than a 15.9. you SHOULD be probably low-mid 14's. even stock. well, the car should be. how long have u been driving ?? and im guessing it IS a 5-spd ?? get a shifter, some gears, and some drag radials. PRACTICE PRACTICE PRACTICE your launching and shifting technique. that car should be way faster than that.

were u dumping the clutch im guessing ?? yeah, thats bad. lol u need to find that "sweet spot". start @ 1500. slipping the clutch a lil bit til u get a tiny chirp from the tires. thats it. or, like i said, just get some Nitto or BFG drag radials.
the whole key is slipping the clutch. i know the first time i ran at the track, i got excited, dumped the clutch and smoked first and spun second badly. my adreniline was pumping so hard. ahhhh memories of the early years
your 60' is killing you. 2500 rpm isn't that bad to launch at. tryin slippin the clutch a little more.
also the 5800 altitude is goin to hurt your top end.
DR's will help, but i'm an advocate of learnign with what you got before modding again

60 ft time notwithstanding, that is an awful trap speed, even given the weather conditions. You have a Cobra; something is wrong. When I ran in July it was 90+ degrees out, humid, and I couldn't launch for poop but still trapped 102-103 (down from 104-105).
If you are at 5800 feet...you have every right to correct your slips. I think it'd be atleast a 14.8 or quicker with atleast a 93 or 94mph trap?
I don't have any tables to do the math, I'm just guessing.

according to the calculator i found, it would be 14.85 @ 95.38
crappy air and awful elevation aside, thats pretty awful...i mean, youre new to the track so you cant expect amazing launches, but the top end is poor...my V6 auto DD pulls similar trap speed...are you sure its in proper working order?
and what is this corrected nonsense? id like to correct my times a bit...
