Actually yes, they can run low 14s. No, that doesn't mean they always will of course.

Well, even speaking from my 160 hp 111 ft lbs experience, 5500 comes up quicker than people think in these cars. The S2000 will build steam and be in it's power band from a 3k launch faster than you guys think.

If I drop the hammer from three grand, I'll be in my power band VERY quickely.
ill be finishing my power band in second before you shift to second. from a dig, i am through 1st in under 2seconds...all theway to 6500rpm

you will beat him, car and driver gets low 14's in the s2000, the average driver will probably get high 14's.

What some of you aren't taking into consideration is the insanely perfect transmission of an s2000. It's so good a 4 year old could hop in and not miss a shift cuz the shifts are so close but not hard to find at all. The throws are probably half what a mustang is. The stock clutch feels fairly weak though, so most people don't like to launch theirs real hard, and then the lack of torque will kill them. If you run across someone in an s2000 that isn't afraid to launch it hard then a stock 99-04 gt vert should lose every time. Thats just what I've found by driving an s2000 on a weekly basis. I hate to sound like a Honda guy, but the 99-04 GT's don't really compare to the s2000's, unless all you care about is the v8 rumble and a back seat, cuz that's the only place a 99-04 GT is better than an s2000.

One run w/ an s2000 and it was in a GTO? A GTO and a 99-04 GT vert's acceleration isn't even comparable. It's not even close. The GTO has way more power. An s2000 has 240 hp and weighs 2850 lbs. A 99 GT vert has 260 hp and weighs somewhere north of 3400 lbs. A 20 hp advantage to the mustang and a 600 lb weight advantage to the s2000. A 600 lb disadvantage won't be cancelled out by 20 hp. I don't see why everyone thinks the s2000 is a joke. Maybe some of you should arrange a test drive sometime to see what it's all about.

It was a 3-way race and the other car was a 04 Mustang GT...

Heres the link to that thread...04 GTO vs. S2000 vs. 04 GT

They spun pretty bad off the line...

Did you time that yourself? You're sitting here giving me specifics about your car that you cannot possibly know. So just stop trying to bring up worthless points.
