Default Rice

I was at Taco Bell last night at 11:30. I pull in and park, two spots from a completely riced out yellow civic hatchback, complete with fart can and carbon fiber hood. This time, that isn't the story.

My friend and I were smoking a cig, while waiting for the drive-through line to die down. An srt-4 drives in. I think they come stock with a decent exhaust, i heard that it comes with straight pipes, because of the turbo, but I'm not sure of that. anyway, his sounded really bad for some reason. He had a carbon fiber hood too. He rolls down his window and hes like, "nice car man. What does something like that run." "I said like a 13.7ish." he askled me if I had it turboed (i know thats a misspelling) to which I replied "no, not sure if I want to twin turbo it or supercharge it, but I'm leaning towards supercharge." The girl in his car asked me if i was too scared to turbo it. (wtf? scared?) Anyway...he was a nice guy and asked if I wanted to run, but there were cops everywhere and I didn't, so basically...I was just wondering if anyone knows the answer to the question...could I have beaten him?

From a dig you should beat him, but not to sure on a roll. I haven't driven a new mustang to know how the top end is.

I see about 10 times more rice ever since FF3 came out on friday. Where did they all just suddenly come from? More than half of them always try to race too. I just ignore them.

a few things...with the srt-4, simple mods like changing the exhaust, and removing the cat, along with a stage change which allows them to run race gas, can make a world of difference, and the car would look stock...if youre a good experienced driver, there is a good chance that youd smack around a stock srt-4...however, a 13.7 run isnt out of reach for a stock srt4 with a very good driver...and with a stage upgrade, and things like a cat delete, better tires, mounts, etc, they can easily run better than 13.7, even with a so-so driver.

so in short, if he was stock with just appearance mods, you could probably beat him...especially from a dig. however, if he had some small mods, he could definately give you a very hard time...with a stage 1 kit, it would be a drivers race if youre running 13.7...and with stage 2, he should destroy a 13.7 car...however, ive seen stage 2 srt-4s muddle their way down the track to high 13s, because daddy's money can buy mods, but it cant buy skill...but at the same time, ive seen a stage 1 with 15 inch DRs, no interior, no cat or exhaust and a homemade CAI run 12.80s...

If the SRT-4 was decently modded and you're stock, I'd be leary of racing him for anything more then just the fun. If he was nothing more then exhaust and CF hood then I think you would take him dig or roll.

The stock exhaust on the SRT-4 is comprised of a o2 sensor housing, a flex joint, a downpipe with cat, and the cat back containing 2 resonators with the pipe spliting into 2 at the rear.

the 13.7 isnt a tru time. Its an estimate. I have never run at a track, but my friend runs a 13.3-13.6 (in that area) and im at his front wheel everytime we race.

Everyone is correct on there input.........Though I have never seen them at the track do much more than high 13's I know there can do better with mods, But i think they have a hard time launching those things..........Stock for stock you should take him, but like they all said they can surprise you with the right mods
