the other day i was on the way to work with my bro. i got off the freeway and a toyota celica gts rolled up on the side of me. a older guy was driving so i did not pay attention. he started to rev on me. in my mind in the past i had alot of tickets for racing and did not want another ticket but then again i wanted to show this guy who the king of the streets where my 1989 5.0 mustang with turbo. the light tured green he was off for the dash i took off wegdeing my foot on the gas half way. i saw i was up on boost and then really let him have it. i passed him up like he was on the side of the side of the road changing a tire. poor guy never new what hit him. my bro said that when i was passing him he looked over and had a puzzled look on his face. toyota no contest for my mustang.

I guess I must have missed this story, but nonetheless good kill. Yeah a Celica GTS isnt much of a match for a turbo'd 5.0.

 

I've never ran a GTS, but Celica GT isnt a match even for a completely stock 5.0. Put down quite a few in my year of having the car.

 

i have seen some Celica GTS's run good times at the track, but +1 to the GT's being slow, my friend has one and i beat him in my v6 Jeep grand cherokee

 

My friend bought a gt-s when he got back from Iraq. CAI and exhaust is what he had in it. I still took him like any other celica i have raced. They are cute little cars lol.

 

the only celicas worth a **** are the alltracs. awd+turbo in a little car makes for some fun. the 3sgte engine that comes in them can handle up to 400 hp.

 

A Celica GT isn't really even much of a match for MY car... let alone a bone stock 5.0. lol

 

my friend has a gts...he always wanted to race me when i was driving an 02 lincoln ls v8...no contest...he doesnt even ask now that i have my stang

 

Your friends must have been an auto. Because a 2000+ GTS with 6spd will hand a Lincoln LS its ***. Not tryin to crack on Stangs, because I own one and its my favorite car, but I've beating a 92 5.0 Stang from a 40mph roll to 75mph by like 2 cars or so. The fastest N/A Celica GTS I know of is a guy with CAI, exhaust and tune and he ran a low 14 in the 1/4.
