Default Who would win? stick vs auto

I have a 2004 3.9 v6 auto with dual flows 40s H pipe, CAI finderwell, 42% crank and water pump pulley, and SCT tuner VS. 2004 that is a 5 speed.

I dont really know how much of a diff a 5 speed is over an auto

Auto's are not much slower than sticks, although it is dependent on the driver of the stick. Even if the stick driver is really good, your mods should give you the edge.

Some people don't even know how do drive autos.

An automatic down the strip is perfect every time. A stick is dependent on the driver being perfect. That doesn't happen.

On the highway, a stick has the upper edge; automatics don't downshift over certain rpm's.

i can back that up................i got beat by a 95' LT1 Camaro with only a CAI from a 40 roll because all he did was downshift and i was in a "dead spot"....he wouldnt go from a dig and from the roll when i quickly reeled him in, he slammed on the breaks and claimed victory........ran into him at the 1/4 about a month later....it was murder i ran a 13.71 and he ran a 14.3X

Is that why they sell shift kits for automatic transmissions? Also, if auto's were perfect on the strip every time, why would people use the brake/rev neutral drop method to launch? Just wondering.

Good driver in auto VS good drive in stick in the same car, stick wins 9/10 times
