fox vs 03 v6
Pulled up to the light and looked over and saw a nice mustang black to grey fade paint job and some chrome bullit deep dish wheels. I wish it was a GT, so we talk off from the light and i take off like normal. We are going the same speed then all of sudden she starts reving up like now they want to race. So i do the same and then they take off so downshift and just reeled them in. It wasn't a big match up in my book but since i hardly have any races under my belt, i'll take it.
i think why a lot of people think the sixes are slow is because probably about 80% of them are bone stock, or they have some huge rims and thats it. Of course the car is going to be slow bone stock, a lot of cars are. That v6 you raced, well i dont want to sound sexist or anything, but it probably was an auto. i raced my buddies auto when i was stock and the difference is night and day with those 99-04 sixes. Now, if the same people put more money into the engine than they do those rims and bodykits, opinions may change. Well anywayz, that was my 2cents, anybody agree...disagree......
i am just saying that instead of a thousand dollar rims, i would rather go with t-loc, 3.73's, and a tuner. that puts you around 1000 right there, and that would drop your time by atleast .5 secs. By no means am i heavily modded, i just have a couple simple things and i get more as i get the excess cash comes in. I am not saying i would have won against 86gt, i am just making a point about where some peoples cash goes, thats all.
Hey fallfast if you would have upgraded your car and all with a 1000 dollars. Then why did you spend so much and way you car down with radio, amps, and subs. Also the money you spent on the tailight tint.
Well its part of the learning process,lol. when i first got my car, i wanted it just for looks. The longer i have had it though, the more performance oriented i have become. If i had to do it agian, i would definitly spend more on the engine and a little less on the sound system. I am actually gonna get rid of my sub and box, and just get some decent speakers and hook up the amp to them. I am tired of having the box back there. As for the look, i wanted my car to stand out a little than everyother mustang on the road. I have a few little things to make it stand out, but when i get some decent numbers to the ground, than i will go a little more into the looks.
I wouldn't underestimate the 3.8/3.9's...at least not at the track. They are pretty stout motors and I've seen some twin turbo setups on them that are putting down some excepcional power. With the edge V6's being so affordable, I would not be suprised how many 6 banger sleepers there are out there. SSM has done some sick things with those cars and Delk just got one in the 9's.
