ok guys here is a comparison of time slips from before 4.10 gears, and after... (launching on 25ft/lb pressure in the nittos, still need to work on launch)

take note of the trap speed in both runs: .01 difference. My 60' time was worse on the run with 4.10 gears because i have not learned to launch with them yet... just imagine how much quicker it will be, with a decent launch. So for those of you looking at 4.10 gears, it could easily drop your time .3 - .4

Oh, now I see. If thats the case, he had the stock gears for a 5spd manual. I thought they were 3.27's.

 

Would'nt going from 3.27 to 4.10's give you a better ET than just a little over a tenth of a second. I know his 60 time was lower with the 4.10's, but the difference in time is so small that I really thought he would have done better than his 12.65 1/4 ET compared to a 12.80 (If he did have stock 3.27's)

 

I didnt think installing gears, 3.73's, 4.10's, or 4.30's drastically changed your 1/4 mile time. I knew it helped with acceleration, thus improving 60' times, but him gaining almost .2, its pretty good.

 

i believe 3.27's were standard in 5 speeds and automatics...................Chevy has the different gearings for 6 speed and automatic maros
