i have a new respect
well, at work last week, i pulled in and saw a red LS1 camaro. didnt kno yet whether it was a 6-cyl or Z28. i KNEW it wasnt an SS tho. so, being me, i parked beside it.
got out, looked on the site, Z28. niiiiiiice. looked inside, blah, automatic. big deal. walk to the front of it, no tag. TRADE IN. DING DING DING DING. we have a winner Jonny. so, i kept seeing it. well, today, shop foreman hands me a repair order, i look at what kind of vehicle...."98 Chevy Camaro Z28". SWEEEEET. well, i took it down the road a couple of lights and turned around to come back to work. and yes, i push 'em when i drive 'em. it only had 46k miles on it. car was in good shape. let me tell you, WOW. totally impressed. i rolled out in first and punched it, no spinning really, just went. so, i now have a new respect for the Ellis Juan, from PERSONAL EXPERIENCE. BUT, ill still stick with my 5.0. i like it better. yeah, 100 less hp(at least), but, the 'Maro feels sooooo big. now, had it been a 6-spd, or better yet, an SS, then, yeah, id probably have liked it more, but, definitely a nice car.

EXACTLY !!!!! i mean, i like how you sit IN in it, but, everything on that car is soo big. the hood, the dash, the whole car just feels bulky. but, like i said, it was pretty damned quick for stock. now i see why the LS1 guys, are the LS1 guys. awesome platform, 'cept for the layout of it and the size of it.

I used to own a 95 Z28 LT1 and that thing cooked. Even though I went through 2 water pumps before I hit 70K. Also I could not stand the hump on the right floorboard. It was the only place to fit the cat. Thank god I was in the drivers seat most of the time. lol

I have a few friends that had 5.0s, then bought later year GT's, and finally they all switched to GM. We went to Sac raceway and saw them all running and they couldnt believe the times the F-bodies where putting down almost stock, or lightly modded. Now two of them own H/C/I, nitrous 02 ZO6's, one a built H/C/I, nitrous 02 WS6, and another has a 98 Z28 with a 422 and 200 shot. Anyhow, one thing they all said when they switched was that they really liked the way GM's gearbox is mounted. I dont know because i have never driven a Mustang, but they said something about the stangs is kind of at an angle and the GM's are straight forward, or Vice versa, anybody else notice this.
