05-07 Mustang GT against an Infinity G35 6 speed?
Stock for stock wich car is faster? I have driven a couple of G35's but have not driven the Mustang GT yet-(maybe today). I lnow the mustang is going to have the torque advantage as well as horsepower. Anybody race the 2 together. I do knwo the G35 is a pain to launch the clutch has a very high engagement-seemed like it would be hard on the clutch materials. How much faster is the mustang? Not that I am buying a GT just because it is so many tenths faster than some other car-that would be rediculous-I am buying one for the incredible styling-the refined 4.6, and the warranty and options, I could go on and on I guess, but there are a LOT of nissans and G35's in my city(aisian invasion basically), I am lucky if I see one 05 mustang a month! In any case I will be doing some mods, exaust, 3.55 gear option(from dealer is how I am ordering it, and probably full length headers.

honestly, no competition. the G35's are nice, as are the 350Z's(i prefer the G35 tho), but, the GT is the better buy. period. looks, power, sound(altho the G/Z do sound good). they only thing the G35/350Z have over the GT is handling from factory, IF that.

I walked a 350Z the other weekend, and a G35 last night. The 350 was closer, but neither of them was what I would even call "close".

For the money, I don't think there's a better performance buy right now than the new Mustang GT's. In addition, Mustangs are simple, sturdy, reliable cars that are easy to modify and have a HUGE aftermarket to supply them with goodies.

I drove a buddy's Z while he drove my 'stang one day, and while it was a VERY nice car, it didn't feel nearly as strong accelerating as my mustang. And I agree, the steering felt dead. The car was very responsive (I would say much better handling than a stock 'stang.), but you didn't "feel" it as you turned the wheel.
