i have yet to see a stock 05-06 GT do any better than a 13.9 most run in the 14.0-14.5 range that i have seen........i have prob raced 10 or 11 already......i have only been beaten by one at the track and it was a Saleen S281SC and my best time was 13.68 on street tires........

 

With all of those mods it would definitely be close. I think you'd win because of the gears.

 

With your mods I'm going to have to say no. Now I know the new Gen Stang is about 300+ pounds heavier than ours, but I think they make up for it in the hp/trq department. But then again, how the hel- should I know. I whoop em' like red headed step children.

I can keep about a half a car to a car in front of an 05 - 06 GT from a dig to the end of 2nd. But as soon as I pull out of 2nd they start pulling hard and by the time I hit the end of 3rd to 4th they are about 1/2 a car in front of me.

you said a 99-04 could beat a 05+ without mods....and we all know that as long as the driver in the 05+ GT is halfways intelligent, then you're full of pooh...

then saying that it depends mostly on the driver... thats a given... i wish for one minute that everyone in the world would assume equal drivers when you are comparing a race... or else no argument will ever solve (make a point) about anything...

i can claim my car could beat an 03-04 cobra, but it depends mostly on teh driver......

 

You're saying it can be beat without mods because you raced on and beat him. WTF? Your sig states you have 302 RWHP, which is not exactly stock. In fact, you have more RWHP than a MACH 1 if that number is accurate. Your statements and your facts are in conflict here. So, is your sig wrong or did you beat one because you flat out have more HP than an '05/06?

 

ive beaten a stage II Roush, and a 5spd 2005 GT. both were stock, im definatly not. I've also seen a couple of stock ones at the track put down 13.6's or so... and one that I know dropped a 13.3 or so with CAI and tune (i know the driver). Those cars respond unbelievably well to bolt ons.. dam 3v's. With your mods you should be putting down around mid-high 250 rwhp... with 4.10 gearing. THe S197's have 300bhp around 260 rwhp (correct me if im wrong?) with 3.55 gear(if its a manual, 3.31 if auto), the tor differance in the motors isn't much (2v has 302lb ft and the 3v has 320), then the weight in there... and curb weight has you in favor by 100lbs; 3347 to 3450... so, do the math.

btw, the 2 that I beat... The roush was from a roll... and if i remember right, it was from 50-110 race, and after 80mph is when I actually put some distance on em (car or so); the other one i raced from a dig, and once I hit 3rd gear, he had no shot....
