Default tales from the street...

Got a few more wins to share ...

Well, I was out ridin' around tonight and hooked up with a '91 - '93 5.0 notchback. I'm not real sure what the guy had done to the engine but it definitely had a cam, a monster tach on the dash and huge D/R's on the back. We ended up racing from stoplight to stoplight. He got the jump on me by about half a car length, but as soon as I shifted 2nd I blew right past him. we raced up to about 75 - 80 mph and I had him by about 2 car lengths and a half or so when we shut it down. at the next light he just looked and me and gave me a nod and smiled.

On the way home on the freeway, I was cruisin' about 80mph when a chrysler crossfire SRT-6 flew past me at about 100+ mph. I could see him coming from about a mile back with his HID lights, hehe.. Anyways, at about 80mph I shifted to 3rd and and finaly caught up with him at about 120mph in 4th. I pulled dead even with him as I shifted to 5th and walked him in 5th from about 135mph up to almost 145mph. That is the fastest I have had my car since I have had it and I must say the thing handles WELL at high speeds (better than any mustang I have owned previously). We started running into traffic (about 2 miles ahead) so I went ahead and shut it down. I had about 4 car lengths on him when I shut it down. I can't beleive my car pulled as hard as it did in 5th gear. I have NEVER had a mustang that has pulled as hard as mine does in 5th gear. I was suprised.

and yeah, I know high speed is dangerous, but there was absolutely no traffic where we were racing and there were 4 lanes of freeway, so all in all it couldn't have been any safer unless we were on a track.

yeah, they definitely got some bite to them (think they run 330bhp or so stock). As he flew past me and I started to catch up with him, he put it to the floor. But, I reeled him in and showed him a thing or two. I wonder what was going through his mind as he was being passed by a car that probably cost me about 37k - 38k less than what he paid for that thing? lol..

SRT-4's are damn mean .. I raced one about a month ago. We raced twice from a dead stop, and I beat him both times. The first time he said he missed 2nd (which it did sound like it) and I pulled about 2 length's on him. The second time we raced, I beat him again but only by about 1 length or so. He said he missed 3rd the second time we raced, but I didn't hear him miss anything [sm=bs.gif]. He also said he was running 19lbs of boost, and I will have to admin the car was amazingly quick.

Lol, I know a guy with an 11 second SRT4 without much invested in it. They are neat little cars and cheap to make fast, apparently unlike 5.0s I have discovered
