Well i went out looking for trouble last night and i found a little. first run was with a riced out civic that was loud as hell. he pulled my freinds mid-low 14 second turbo miata from a roll so i thought it might be a good run. we lined up at a stop light and i yanked him for about 20 cars. dude wouldnt even look at me when i tried to give him the thumbs up. i drove around for an hour and couldnt get a run so i decided to go home. as i got off 95 at my exit i saw this silver 6.0l gto i turned right instead of left and we lined up at a redlight. i tossed him a few revs and he started creeping forward and i could hear his revs rise. light went green and i got a super launch pulling about 1/4 car, power shifted second and got another 1/4 car he started creeping back on me and i nailed third hard. we ran it up till 105 and he shut it down about a 1/4 car back off me. it was a nice run. he would pull a 1/8th of a car or so in each gear and then when he shifted it would fall back again. it was a fun run. this tune and offroad x has turned the gt into a different car......

na i have a kn intake 75mm tb, intake plenum, and a catback. its a off road x. i think if i were driving his car and him in mine i could have won with his car. its just nice to know its a drivers race with a 400hp monster.....

 

wow.........for not having nearly the hp of him, thats freekin awesome. congrats again !!! driver "mod" makes a HUGE difference in ANY car

out of curiosity, why do u say that ?? he doesnt have anywhere near the same hp as the GTO.....i mean, im sure weight plays a role, but how much more do the GTO's weigh than a New Edge ?? i mean, im gonna say hes between 300-310hp.....big difference between that and 400.......

 

These GTO's are giving us f-body guys a bad name. Give me a 350+rwhp car and 3800lbs and it WON'T run 14's....maybe 15's. [8D]

 

looks like a new gto weighs in at 3725 vs. 3253 for the gt. figure i put around 250 to the wheels he puts around 320-330 to the wheels. solid axle vs. IRS. there you go.

 

He might be at 300 hp at the fly wheel (and thats being generous), while that GTO is putting 340+- RWHP and they are not that heavy maybe 3600+- 150 lbs, plus they actually hook pretty well most of the time (unless it's an auto and hits 2nd gear funny, then they go up in smoke). Bone stock they run deep 13's and a new edge with minimal mods runs high 13's. I am not doubting the kill at all, just to me a drivers race is one in which the two cars are very evenly matched. Such as a 2000 Camaro and a 05 GT (both stock of course)

 

The 6.0 is an LS2....the LS1 puts down 310-320rwhp, the LS2 puts down 345+rwhp.

EDIT: I'm 100% sure your car weighs more than 3253lbs....
