Ever BETTER than a kill...
So I'm out cruising, and this GTI U turns with me trying to line up and race me. I heard the turbo and having already had 2 races tonight (ate a Stratus R/T and a Prelude with a turbo in it...probbaly a crappy one) I figured what the heck...go for the hat trick.
So as we go to let loose I see what I think is a cop in front of us, I signal this to the GTI and he holds back until we catch a red light. It turns out the car infront of us was just a cabbie so I laugh and as the GTI pulls up next to me I say "Hey, you can't be too careful" he agrees. So I ask him if he wanted to race, to which he responds, after looking over my car "ah no way man, you'll hand me my ***" Now to some people my car kinda looks like a worked over Cobra because of the Saleen bumper and the wheels so I tell him I'm a V6. This is where it gets funny.
Me:Nah man, I'm just a V6
GTI: Yeah I know you are, but I've heard of you. My buddy was tellin' me about you.
I'm stunned to say the least, and crack a halfway smirk. More or less he explains how his buddy's into Stangs and had seen me racing around and basically said he'd have no chance. Now I knew, through a friend of mine, that I had a rep amongst the ricers in the area (yeah I went on a rampage one week after loosing my damn mind), but I had no idea it went THIS far. So, with a shrug and exchanged polite waves we went our seperate ways.
What's better than a kill? A guy in a car that's probably faster than your's refusing to race you based solely on reputation.

*Shrugs* Don't ask me why(might have something to do with the rampage). My car isn't all that crazy, I mean it's fast for a 6 but it's no monster. I hope this didn't come off as bragging, as I'm certainly not, but c'mon...you'd react the same way if you were in my shoes.

With the gears in, I dunno. I'll try and get to the track next weekend when I have money again. Before the gears, on an oily, hot, humid, non-sticking track, the best I'd ever gotten out of it was 16.1
