Finally Got a Bite.
I have been driving around this city with my car for 10 months now, and no-one wants to race. Most just want to give a flyby.
That changed today.
I was coming over a bridge after going through a toll booth. The guy in front of me refused to exceed 50 on the interstate, so I gun it to go around him. About 300yds back I notice a red C4 vette quickly change lanes to come towards me. (I guess he heard me) I knew this was going to be fun.
He comes up and gives me a smile as he passes me casually - I kindly smile back. Good, this means that this guy wont act like an a$$, win or lose. We both know that the area coming up is notorious for speed traps, but luckly, once you top the bridge, you can see clearly where any cops may be. We line up next to each other and, knowing what was about to happen, I quietly as possible, put my car into third and hold 50mph. I hear him gun it. I nail the throttle, almost instantly putting a half a car on him. Fourth gear comes quickly, and soon after the shift, he falls back by another 1.5 cars.
I don't know what MPH we stopped at because when I race, I only watch the tach to shift, I never care about my speed. I think I let off at about 120, only because I stopped accelerating at the top of 4th, which is about 120.
I slow down as traffic comes up quickly, and the Corevette catches up. We both smile and give a friendly wave knowing it was a good time, and went our seperate ways.
