Well Im only 23 for starters and this is my first car with actual power. Last car was a 99 Stang V6 auto. And so basically I have no racing experience. Pull up to a light after getting some food, and what do you know a Z28 next to me(not sure on year, but newest body style), I could tell he wanted to go, but seeing as I have never raced I wasn't quite sure I wanted to. So I never revved back or anything. Soon as the light turned green though we both let em loose. I jumped out to a early half car length in first. I noticed in every gear, 1-3 I would pull the first half of the gears on him, and the 2nd half of those gears he would pull on me. Had to call it quits in 4th. Soon as we came to the next light the passenger in his car was amazed, first thing he asked is what mods do you have on that thing. He had a big smile when I told him it's stock. The driver wouldn't even look at me. He did had the added weight of a passenger, and not sure on his mods, he definately had exhaust. I was shaking afterwards. I thought I was going to keep my car stock, but after that, Brenspeed here i come!

Just be careful.....Modding is fun but, IF you let it get out of control you'll end up like 99.98% of us here.........ADDICTED [sm=trust_me.gif]

 

+1... Sadly.. modding is an endless spiral of wallet emptying actions. Its order after order after order. And I wouldnt have it any other way.

I've only lost once to a friends 2000 z28, but then again he has 800 whp. And true to the Chevy bowtie, his car did a magic trick where two piston seals blew out after we raced. [sm=laughat.gif]

 

Good kill. I used to get that way after I raced. All shaking and what not. Would think I had Parkinsons. [8D] Good luck on modding your car. Like everyone has said it is addicting.

 

Sounds like a drivers race, GOOD KILL. Do you know if he was auto or stick? If the guy was stick, you definitely have a powerhouse on your hands, I assume 06/05 GT 5-speed?

 

I guess it's starting to look like a drivers race these days between an LS1 F-body's and the S197 GT's . I'm assuming that is the car you own.....
