vs. Evolution Lancer
So the night before, about 12:00AM, I was cruising down a street towards McDonald's with my friend when out of nowhere, a WRX, Evolution, Eclipse GS-T, and Sentra SE-R flew past in the incoming direction...So I pulled a U-y and joined them, cruising around town....
I felt a little out of place being the only domestic car. Haha... Eventually we hit a rural road where a few of the guys were really struttin their stuff; the SE-R especially was interesting, it proved to pull very hard for a nearly stock N/A 4-cylinder.
Eventually, I ended up next to the dark blue Evolution. Without hesitation, I put it into a lower gear where I was at nearly 3,000 RPM. He put his tranny into the respective gear, and I punched it. He fell behind a bit, then started gaining slightly until I hit my powerband. By the sound of his blowoff valve I could tell he was really pushing hard!
Another run showed a very similar outcome; I start ahead and the Evo doesn't gain. Afterwards we pulled into a parking lot where I met and talked with the guys who were all very cool. The driver of the Evo was dumbfounded that he was beaten by a Mustang. I agreed that it would be completely different from a stop (which wasn't possible at the time).
I am still in awe over that race...I expected, once again, to be completely waxed, but it turned out very differently than I had planned! I'm guessing the exhaust really chimed in giving the little extra high end power that I needed...

It's awesome to see imports that are driven by nice people every now and then i'll run into some that are level headed and nice.
but 99% of them are rice. There is a gang of sinfires in my town now with fart cans that think there as fast as lightning hehe.
Thats awesome you got to run an evo always wanted to race one.

Good to find some nice racers every once in a while. I am fixing to type up a thread of last nights adventure with a corolla S last night it is a must read this guy was a FU$%ING douche bag.

My experience with rice drivers is the same. But I know there are some good guys out there. There is a guy who shows up occasionally here locally in a white Supra that thinks he is so bada$$. Every time I pull up for fuel at the BP station the rice group frequents they all say he wants to race me, but of course it never happens...all talk. My standard answer to his little group of friends is "let me know which car and where". He can beat a stock 2V GT and thinks he is God...[sm=headbang.gif]
