145mph in 06GT
I was leaving work yesterday and cruising down a service road that runs alongside the interstate where I would normally accelerate up to about 70 or 80mph and then call it quits but this time my foot decided to stay in it longer than normal. I hit redline in 4th gear and was doing around 125mph then switched to 5th and then stayed in it till 145+ and noticed the hood doing a little dance so I let off and thats that. I need an aluminum driveshaft because I had some vibrations in the drivetrain and I dont like that one bit. My 1995 camaro was as smooth as silk at over 150mph! I know the stang is not a top speed ***** but I still wish it was a little more stable at higher speeds...
The hood was like a sheet in the wind at 145mph, kinda scary looking!

Yes officer my accelerator pedal just stuck to the floor like it was velcro or something, I am lucky to be alive! Thanks for pulling me over to make sure I was ok!

Ford addressed that in a TSB (or it might have been a recall) in 2005 after several accidents were caused by poor ford engineering which caused just that problem. At least, thats what we were told as sales people, I have not recently heard of any more lawsuits because of it

They also addressed the upper and lower control arms (all) in the Ford GT that seemed to be prone to breaking. REcalled every single one produced up until that point to do it. I imagine these two things cost a pretty penny.
heyyyy!!!!!!!!!!!!!, i thought it was just my car, wow when i get over 130 the hood looks like it wants to fly off.
cool, i feel safer now, i thought my hood was gonna blow off one day and die a firery death

yeah , new edge stang's are much more aerodynamic than 05+ . I have hardly any hood shake at 140 .

At 130mph my 1995 Trans Am looked like it was sitting still for all the lack of flapping I got. It was also glued to the road and very responsive without any hint of lift.
