2000, there was a guy on svtperformance.com - had all those mods and made I think 538 rwhp or something like that... I don't think it's that hard to get to 500rwhp, but its a pain going from 500 to 550 to 600

Since when is a whipple>KB 2.2? Most Cobra guys love the KB... I like the Whipple because its a solid s/c and it's cheaper
He never clarified if it was at the fly or at the wheels but either way I would have been in trouble.....I hear Cobras arent the most reliable of cars but does'nt all that extra mod work just lower it's reliability even further?
I have never heard of any reliablity issues. The intercooler tends to overheat some if you run alot of boost on the stock stuff, but thats easy to fix, and unless you are simply being stupid it isn't gonna hurt anything (other than performance)

And xxkazp3rxx, I think you answered your own question.

I have actually heard quite the opposite... the only big problems it had were on the 03's (some of em) had a tapping from I believe it was a piston? Other then that, it still has forged internals and the same tranny your precious LS1's have, haha. Remember, it's really the same motor that are all the DOHC 32V Mustangs, just with forged internals. If he beat you that bad, im sure it was at the wheels... what serious tuner really talks about Flywheel horsepower - once a cars modded? lol.. the 390bhp in these cars is really like 425, considering they dyno mostly in between 370-385rwhp stock.

I was driving a full size city transit bus. I hav'nt heard any complaints from SVT 03/04 Cobra owners on this forum , but I have heard of reliability problems with the late 90's model Cobras (so I assumed it rubbed off on later models)

haha ok didn't catch that, haha... Yeah the new Cobras have the forged internals, and they have a good transmission unlike the crap they use to have... They do build up heat fairly easy from what I understand.. but, nothing a good aftercooler and heat exchanger can't solve

My only question here is, what is a city bus driver doing with a C6 Vette?

Do I need to switch my profession?

My friend has a pulley and will have her stock blower ported, along with a coupla other mods. She expects to hit 500 rwhp.
Here's a better question: what's the best way for a Cobra to put that power to the ground? I'm of the understanding that many Cobra owners have dyno sheets that far exceed their timeslips.

this is true with the IRS it gets difficult when you start to make all that power. So on top of all those performance upgrades you also have to make your IRS stronger.

Why would we want to make the IRS stronger?!

And dude, why were you driving a city bus? I am going to quit my job right now if you tell me thats how you got the Vette.

I drive for County transit so I'm a civil employee which entitles me to the benefits and the same retirement as police, fire, etc. Private company drivers make far less....

The pay in major metropolitan areas for county transit operaters (drivers) are pretty good....You also get as much overtime as you want....
