I don't know what the deal is...

I thought for sure this guy in a sweet white 97 SS would wanna run. I've watched him run a couple cars and it was pretty quick. He's weaved in and out of traffic trying to get besides me but never could.

Tonight he caught me at a light and I said "whats up" and he said "nadda". Pretty much said I wanna run and he took off in 1st gear door to door then quit because I had started to pull him. Weird, he drove by and ignored me.

Then I had a young guy in a C4 Corvette riding my *** down the main street, revving and chirping his tires. I just drove like normal until we got off the main street and I gave her gas and got a chirp to let him know if we catch a light I wanna run... Well when he was behind me I was rolling in 5th gear at 30 mph so my car was virtually silent and sounded stock. I think it might have freightened him because he wouldn't run at the light either.

Late tonight I ran into a early C4 Corvette 'Vert and he was driving like a maniac infront of me. I figured it was time to pull up besides him and give him a run. We approached a light and I downshifted to first at 25 mph and suprised him, he looked over real quick as if to say "WTF!". The light turned green and I paced him, I blipped the throttle enough so he would figure I'm gonna start the race, I was trying to get him to go and he wouldn't...dammit!!

 

they knew better than to even TRY. they may drive the "heartbeat of America", but DONT F**K W/ THE HOOFBEAT OF AMERICA. haha maybe you intimidated 'em cuz you werent scared of them and everybody else probably backs down because they drive a "big bad" 350. o well. youll get your chance again probably. and if you do, let us know what happens

 

dan....I take out my 90 stang and can't any runs...I'd just like some practice....well I get some pretender but thats no fun when you know you'll put 15 cars on them

 

Haha, I was baffled by it. It's pretty easy to tell I'm not running any 11 sec ET's.

 

Vette guys really hate getting their asses handed to them. It's like a ***** size thing to them. I had some *** in an '88 Convertible last summer with his ratted out hair 80's girlfriend in the car with him pull up next to me at a light. He reved it at me, and I just kind of chuckled, he was like "This is a Vette, you think you can hang." By the end of 2nd gear he was 5 cars behind me, and when I turned he drove by me both of them looking straight ahead.

She probably dumped him that night.

 

Hahahahah, you're right. 90% of Corvette owners are ********. They think the damn car is worth a million bucks and if you drive a vehicle that doesn't say Corvette, then they can walk all over ya. I gave another asswipe a shocker driving his 94 'Vert a while ago.

 

i have the same prob. no one will race me. i don't know if it is because the exhaust is so damn loud, or the fact that the rear tires are now drag radials or what. and when someone does want to go, as soon as i hit 3300 rpm they give me the deer in the headlights look. i got a v6, with no body work done to it at all except a mach 1 chin spoiler. even the guy across the street who knows my car as well as i know his won't race. it f*ck*ng sucks

 

Pretty impressive V6 ya got there, what's done to it?

 

i guess that's my mistake..running dumps wich shakes my rear view mirror off and running with my skinnies on. in the past 4 months outside the track where i prefer it to be was a focus wagon...those things are even more anoying when someone tries to race you only havig a fart pipe for performance.god i hate that ****.

 

i just got a new exhaust thursday. mac longtubes going into 3.5 inch pipes coming out the side. but honestly did not do most of the work. the chick that had the car before me did the CAI, 1.8 roller rockers and original exhaust. i dynod that combo at 185 to the wheels. i have royal purple oil in the engine, tranny and rear end,which supposedly can give you a few extra horses. pro-m mass air, bbk tb, asp underdrive pulleys, diablo chip. that's nothing compared to what is going into it in december, procharger blower with front mount intercooler and a 4.4 stroker with .030 overbore with 8.5 comp pistons. i'm hoping for 300+ whp
