yeah i've heard the viper and IMO i think it sounds awesome in person. This is accually one of my good friends little brother. Twig happens to work with my buddies older brother and their younger brother is the one with the viper. He got it for 34k with 15k on it. I've been wanting to race him for a while and now i know kinda where i stand just because i've raced twigbert. But i still want to see the real thing.

Its true about the tires.. The viper did have the stock tires and although they were W-I-D-E as chit, they did feel like they lost some of their 'stickyness' when I rubbed them with my hand..

I had fun and thats all I can say.. I'm not claiming a kill here but rather a drawl.. He wasn't running good tires so I had him from a dig.. From a roll we were dead even up to the end of my 4th gear, which was 115 MPH.. I had to shut it down and that thing wanted to keep going, and going, and going.. The driver just got the car a few weeks ago and upgraded from an SRT.. Thus, this is his first rear wheel drive car and he did dam good IMO.. Missing gears has happen to all of us so I don't fault him on that..

I had fun and hope to race him again when he gets better tires.. I've sunk alot of money into getting my car EXACTLY the way I want it.. He just got it and hasn't put a dime into it so it wasn't exactly race ready..

 

a few things...

a stock first gen viper RT10, with a VERY good driver, might get near the 12s...ive seen it done, at a viper shootout and they were comparing a stock viper to a roe blown viper...i believe that the stocker ran something like a 12.98...they arent very solid off the line...ive seen some as slow as mid to high 13s, but thats the driver, not the car...

also, the first gen vipers had a TERRIBLY restrictive exhaust system, which is why MANY rt10 owners switched to a GTS style exhaust...if you look under one, the sidepipes are SO close to the end of the manifold, that there was almost an "S" from the end of the manifold to the sidepipes...its very beneficial to those models to put an exhaust system that straightens out the flow.
