Im sure they all sit around and lie about it...why, isnt that how you mustang guys run these mid/low 13's that I HAVE NEVER SEEN!? Most 05's run 14's where I am...maybe YOU ARE ALL LYING TOO!? HOLY CRAP!? Get serious. It is what it is, some freak drivers in a mustang GT can pull low 13's and some freak drivers in a GTO can pull high 12's. Deal with it.

i think so far that everyone agrees that the GTO is faster.
also. i said it is mid 13 car in the heat, which in return would mean that in better weather = low 13's.

I've personally have yet to see a Stock Gto run below 13.7.Take for what it's worth.You'll here alot of guys on here give advice from what they read in mags. etc.Or what they see a GTO Dyno at means absolutley nothing.Get out to the track and see for yourself.The GTO does have a nice motor but it's a pig and hard to get it to hook.Stock fo stock the Mustang will walk the GTO.Anyone who say's otherwise have not seen the cars enough in person.(Case in point the newbie GM hippo who seems to think the GTO is a half second faster LMAO)This ia what I'm referring to. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=aR3CWpQIdic

Not here to start any wars, just provide some info as i do have time behind the wheel of both of these cars and can tell you that the GTO will KILL a mustang GT stock for stock. If you do more searching you will find many people with STOCK GTO's running lower 13's over on the LS1forums! Don't find that here without mods! Yes there are people also running 14's and 15's also, just like here too, driver skill and track conditions are everything! Like I said before, i had the popular mods on my GT and it still wasn't up to the GTO stock! And as far as the torque comment winning races, your out gunned again by 75ft/lbs at much lower rpms with the GTO. I could really care less who would win races between the two as so many factors will decide the outcome. But to listen to people glorify what they have and not know the competetion based on what others done or in videos, thats just foolish! All things equal, the GTO will win every time, thats why car magazines do these test, to keep all things equal! When they do those shoot-outs, its on the same track with the same drivers in the same conditions. I'd love to see ya post a link for that were the GT out ran the GTO! Sorry for the rant but some people don't want to hear the truth, yeah i realize people bleed blue here but they also have to be openminded that there are other muscle cars that are always going to be faster and many even faster than a GTO! But hey, thats what mods are for!

A little math for all of you. 05 GT= 3550# with a full tank of gas. The GTO is around 3850 with a full tank of gas. So we are talking 300# difference, ANY way you slice it (you race with 1/4 tank? reduce both weights accordingly).
Now...if your 280whp car can run a 13.3-4 like you people love to tell me, then WHY cant a car that weighs 300# more but makes a full 60whp more run high 12's? Yeah, LS2 GTO's lay down around 340 at the rollers. So tell me, I show you timeslips, I show you videos (or links to them) and I give you the numbers. If you cant accept it then it is your own ignorance saving your ego a bruising. I cannot enlighten that one.

weather is cooling off now, here in the next 3 months all cars should be producing some good numbers. hopefully guys from this site will make an effort to go to the track and see what there car runs. and post back THERE results.

If a time stands unopposed on LS1tech.com It is pretty sure to be legit. That forum runs like a well oiled machine and is moderated VERY! well (no offence JD, they just have more mods and more time on their hands). I would trust a time from LS1tech before I trusted a time posted here. Besides, they got a video of the 12 second passes.
