Is there a certain age you have to be to take your car to the track? Or can you go when your 16?

I seen some 14/15 yo run at the track before. They dont ID you..

 

ok cool, becuase i've been wanting to go. but my dad said you needed to be 18...[sm=icon_blah.gif]

 

all of the junior dragsters are like really young... you dont need a liscense to drive at the track.. im sure you could be any age to be able to drive a car at the track...

 

Not sure how old you have to be, but at Irwindale (Socal) you have to show them your license. I think you have to be 18 to race there... Not sure though, so don't quote me on it.

I sure hope that applies to all tracks! I know the ones around here require a license. If they allowed a 14 year old kid to run and he slammed into me i'd sue the track for sure. I'm going to do more research and see if there is some kind of law, at the very least i'm going to make sure the tracks I go to check id's.

 

I've seen those jr dragsters that look about 8 years old at mine, haha... I know they never check my I.D., just make me sign something saying that I have one, and they're not responsible for anything, lol

 

Wish Dad bought me a new mustang when I was 16, but im sure you, and every other young teen on here, worked your @$$ off to get it..........right. It's ok to admit your spoiled, wish I was.

 

normally for nhra rules you could run it but you will need a parent signature once a year until your 18
