Default Went to the Track!!!

Hello all...Been awhile since I posted. I took my Stang to the track today...Here are my best times:

Best Run:
60ft: 1.9
330ft: 5.7
1/8: 8.8 @ 79.53mph
1/4: 13.7 @ 98.53mph

Back up run:

60ft: 2.0
330ft: 5.7
1/8: 8.7 @ 79.63
1/4: 13.72 @ 98.92

I didn't run below a 13.9 on any of my runs today. I have a question for you all, why is my MPH so damn slow??? I don't get it. Does that mean i'm making no HP???? Can someon fill me in? Thanks!!!! Also the only mods I have for my 03 Automatic GT is 4:10 gears, Fenderwell Intake, SCT XCal2 tune.

could be the auto tranny, that is what i would put most of the blame on.

You're not making much power. You're getting it all to the ground though, that's all that matters. Just don't race anyone from a roll, but that's not really a race anyway.

Nice times man.

It is because of your auto tranny. Auto transmissions are easier to run quicker times at the track (lower et.) while manual transmissions are faster at the track (higher trap speeds) but usually run slower at the track.
I hope I didn't confuse you

What you mean is:

Auto's make less power typically, yet usually always run quicker ET's. The lower power = lower MPH. Manuals make more power typically, yet usually run slower ET's. The more power = higher MPH.

Then why do the mags always get faster ET's with the 05+ sticks?

Depends who's driving....

Stock automatic vs stock manual with a good driver = the manual car winning. It's just harder to run quicker ET's in a manual car.

A stalled automatic vs a manual usually always leads to the auto car winning. The torque multiplication from the converter + the ease of launch are great factors for low ET's.

If I were you, Id be happy with the e.t. The mph will increase with power making mods and the auto loses more pwr through the trans. My best et was a 13.15/101.7, but my best mph was a 102.../13.3. You have a strong runner with very few mods which is darn good.
