sorry guys... what the kid is saying is true, on average the mazdaspeed6 can pull mid-high 13's in the 1/4 mile, and being a stock turbo car they have a nice aftermarket kick for very cheap.... just a car to watch out for I suppose.. well, not sleeper05, he's passed the mazdaspeed threshhold and moved to working on vettes[8D]

good kill 99GT, mark it up as a really good one because they are no joke for new edges

 

hah my buddy has a 06' limited edition wrx, its a stage 1 cobb tuned car right now, and he wants to trade me straight upof course i'm not dumb and tell him subaru's are in the past for now. maybe the 2009 models will be upped in performance though.

edit: i forgot to say this kid has a non stock turbo, with a front mount, intake, exhaust, without any ECU mods though! he is also running 19" wheels..they are hard to push (i've tried big wheels on a four cylinder, they do make a difference)

Can and Drivertested the Mazdaspeed 6 in the February issue, and got14 seconds at 99 mph...

 

I had a run in a few months back (I posted a thread here about it) with a Mazda 3 and that little f*cker stayed up with me till around 90mph then I started pulling slowly after that up to 110mph...There quick little cars..

 

i personally don't take anything car and driver claims seriously. the last thing i read from them was a:

who in there right mind compares an 07 shelby gt stang to an rx8? lol the rx8 isn't even fast..itsreally sporty feeling but not fast! not in the same class at all..

You came off as an ******* when you basically called bullsh*t on my story, and then you called me unreliable. Your first post wasn't one to be welcomed, so don't chime in with the sob story and act as if we need to feel sorry about our reaction, because if that was you that posted a kill story, and some noob joined in to laugh and call bs and say that YOU were unreliable, I'm almost certain those in here would react in your favor (as they did for me).

Its nice to have a member that has a mazdaspeed6 though, I've always liked those cars and was curious to know what they got. Welcome to the forums by the way.

 

yes agreed, i went back and read my first post. you are right, my apology should have been directed at you. i just found it hard to believe(from personal experience in my mazda vs. mustangs), but i jumped to conclusions about your state of modification.

all that aside, thanks for the welcome. there are some nice cars here, i'll enjoy discussing my mustang here, and hopefully get some answers i'll be needing for my 79' 2.3l turbostang rebuild.

 

Good luck with the rebuild, that stuff can be very much a pain in the *** at times.
