I'm sorry, that just does not compute. In those conditions a stock auto will trap 104-105 (done it myself), a 6-speed 107-108 or so and run deeeep into the 13's. Your observations are not typical.

The runs i saw of the LS1s running 14.0 and 13.6 were at Union Grove in wisconsin, and it was mid 60s and no hummidity.

They don't. Everyone is full of crap man, honestly. Even MM&FF (Muscle Mustangs & Fast Fords for the lamens) who had Evan Smith drive TWO of them to 12's bone stock in crappy weather. The slower of the years too, a '98 and I believe a '99, not positive on the '99 though.
Do you live on Mt. Everest? That could explain it. [8D]

The fastest stock LS1 ive ever seen is 14.0 at 100 and i kno a kid with a 02 SS with full exhuast and he ran 13.6 at 102 with a 2.0 60' and all the cars were autos. So i dont know how many LS1s are hitting 12s stock, cant be many.

the LT1 is a good motor aside from the optispark. LS1's are quicker and respond better to mods.
an LT1 is 350 ci, while the LS1 is actually 346 ci and does not share any relation with the traditional small block chevy.
btw, LT1's go quite nicely with a blower as well
