06 GT vs 04 COBRA

Man, on my test drive, I was powershifting the damn thing! Why bother racing when you don't powershift? You're leaving tenths all over the time slip if you don't!
Without powershifting, with my traction issues - I'm absolutely 100% confident I would have been lucky to break a 13.0 flat at the track. However, with my traction issues and working through it the best I could with lightning fast powershifts, I was able to squeek out a 12.5@115. I bet without powershifting I wouldn't have broke 112 mph considering all the spinning I did.
I would safely ASSUME my car makes at the very least 420RHP. I would agree it's near the 440RWHP mark - but I don't like making those claims because I simply don't have the dyno graphs to back it up, I've held off on the dyno while I decide what I'm doing with my KB.

Yeah Powershifted my Stock Convertable to an 8.1@86.42 in the 1/8 last night, I hope you have an aftermarket shifter because I hate Powershifting from 2nd-3rd with my stock shifter its like trying to Powershift a mac truck[8D]...

Good kill, the jerk deserved it. I rarely would race another Mustang(unless the other guy's acting like a pr1ck)....when I still had my '05 GT I(for $hits & giggles) lined up next to a Terminator(early last year) and he took it easy on me...I waved him over and we chatted and I treated him to a brew at a bar nearby....I'll be the first to admit, I not the biggest New Edge fan, but I REALLY love Terminators, they just look so different from the regular GT & the Mach 1 too(although the shaker hood and interior rock on Machs).
Besides the Terminator is the fastest Mustang available(until the GT500 can prove itself by becoming more affordable) in stock form.
Really? He thought he could beat you? Terminators are mid 12 cars with good traction in stock form......like I stated, he deserved the beat down. Good thing you're a class act.......

LOL!! That's pretty funny, when I took the car for a test drive, the salesman talked about how short the shifts were!! The shifter was stock and I started laughing and told him it was like powershifting my old 89 Ford Ranger beater stuck! Your arm has to travel so far to shift that I swear you can make the air freshener hanging from your rear view mirror blow around!! [8D]

You have one sweet Cobra! I have a customer that has one just like yours. You know, the impossible kind to keep clean. The guy you raced was pretty much stock. How could he think he had a shot? Don’t get me wrong, I love my 05 but it was far from a beast when I got it. I’m not sure how the previous model GTs are but mine felt like pig.
I took 15K to make mine equal or with an edge to a 04 Cobra.

I had to drive to one of my fabricators today for some samples that is about 80 miles away. I decided to take my Cobra for the ride instead of my Titan and enjoy one of the last nice days before winter sets in...
I got onto the Mass pike, driving a steady 75 when a red 05+ GT runs up along side me, loud as hell with drag radials out back. We worked our way through traffic and happened to get atleast 2 miles of open road infront of us when we started to slow down. I dropped down to 45 in 2nd gear, not sure what gear he dropped to - we took off from 45mph, he caught traction instantly and I fried my tires initially, I pedaled my way through it while he jumped out half a car on me. By the top of 2nd gear I had managed to run up to his front fender and in 3rd gear I quickly left him like a bad habit, grabbed 4th and kept putting the bus lengths between us. We slowed back down again and he screamed something at me that I couldn't make out, this time we dropped down to 1st gear at about 25mph and took off. I rolled into the throttle as softly as possibly and while he jumped out a good car length, I gave myself a better shot at getting into 2nd gear without roasting the tires. I was spinning the tires early in 2nd gear, but quickly hooked and proceeded to pull up & past him with ease getting into 3rd gear and he flashed his lights letting me know he gave up.
I pulled into the rest stop about 15 miles up the road and he did too. We talked for a little bit and he really had nothing nice to say about my car. He had a major +05 Mustang's are better fever...ugh.
Anyways, we talked about some mods, he had LT's, magnaflow catted x-pipe & catback, 4.10 gears, UDP's, CAI, tb & a 93 octane canned tune. [&:]

I've never understood the hostility that some Mustang owners harness towards other Mustangs!
I'm just enjoying my car, I enjoy just about every car on the road, domestic or import. Just from the way he talked to me and his attitude towards my car ( I wasn't looking for any comments or even any sort of acknowledgement ), it was clearly obvious he was convinced he'd leave me like a red headed step child. He kept saying 'I thought you'd need more than that' 'I must have a bad tune' 'It should have been completely different'.
Someone in so much denial, I'm actually surprised he had enough ***** to stand there and talk to me, but maybe he was just so full of himself that he honestly believes a tune could change the outcome.
I've only met a couple friendly Mustang owners in my area, and even they were strange about acknowledging a faster Mustang than theirs exists..

What is it that you do for a living? That looks like one HELL of a shop you have!!
I think it's EXCELLENT you have 4.30's with your supercharged car!! That must make it even more of a monster with 480hp!!!

It's interesting to hear honest input from 05+ owners. So many Mustang owners (regardless of the model year) let it get to their head and all you get is incredibly biased opinions, reviews & stories.
