BUT, my friend is comin home this weekend from NC. hes got a '06 Duramax 4-dr Chevy truck. auto. he said it has like 385hp, 650 lb/ft. now, i got a '92 GT. 5-spd, Pro 5.0 shifter. flowmasters, cold-air kit......flex fan(big whoop). now, we're talkin about racing 'em just for fun. but, im wondering who would win........im tryin to get a cameraman so i can tape it, so, yeah, let me kno wut u think, cuz its driving me nuts. i cant decide who has the upper hand here......oh, and driver mod for my car

Unless he weighs his bed down he's gonna have a hard time launching with out spinning like mad. If it's a short race, like we had talked about, then you should have him. Especially since he will have to baby it off the line. I'm gonna give the nod to you but it can be close.

the guy im tryin to talk into being our "cameraman" thinks i can take him too. hes seen me drive. haha. idk. im just hoping it doesnt rain. mom said theyre calling for rain this weekend. which will SUCK. its been soooo long since ive had a race. i want a race dammmit. haha.

auto or manual - ive got a F350 powerstroke and off the line its **** *** slow, you have to get the turbo up past atleast 10psi to get any power. So if you launch well you will have a lead on him - if he drives an auto. If he has a manual he will make the difference up. I know my truck cant beat my mustang, im gonna go ahead and say that he cant beat you - but let me tell you, once the boost is up at around 20psi in my truck, she is actually really quick. The tranny is close ratio so it stays in the power and boost. It will be a fun race, goofy, but fun.

I think you got him dude, especially because of your driver mod!
If you have any **** in your car, take it all out before the race.... and run him at like 1/4 tank. Any advantage you can get will probably help a lot ^_^
I would think once he gets up to speed, it's going to be hard to pull away from him, but you'll have a big advantage on the launch. Your car feels very healthy for its age / mileage, I'm sure you'll beat him
