"this is by no means bragging"

i went to the races this saturday and just wanted to have a couple of fun runs. when we got there, no one wanted to run. i just sat there on the line, waiting. finally a v6 stang pulls up to run me. i didnt want to race him beacause gas cost a lot now. but, i decided to run him anyway. that is why i love mustang owners. i dont know many that would puss out. v6 or cobra, stangs always run. if you guys want, i'll tell you about the rest of the night.

well, i went to an undisclosed area to meet others like myself. i havent been into the night scene for the last 2 years. when i showed up the first car to race was a n/a eclipse. i took it pretty easy on him, but it wasnt pretty. the next run i gave him a 3 car lead and passed him in third. we left and went back to the gas station. when we got there, i sought out the fastest of the fast. without saying which car i owned, i found out there was a turbo civic, a 3000 GT vr-4 w/ 400 awhp, and some kid told me he had a 14 second civic coupe. when i found the 3000, he didnt want to run me. i guess he thought i was a kia kid. when we got to the next track, i ran the 'stang, a couple civics and integras, then the turbo hatch came out. he let his gf out of the car but i kept my rider. too much wheel spin and not enough boost. the vr-4 decided to give me a shot. the first race he had a cocky look on his face until i launched at 6k. i won round one. he wanted to go again so i launched at 7k the next time and didnt slip the clutch as much. same result. supposedly that was the first time anyone saw him lose...ever.
he told me to come back in two weeks so he can regain his status. i may show. not a bad night for running "only" 18 psi. we'll see what happens on 22 psi next time.

 

Whatcha run in the 1/4?

 

i ran 12.9@105 on the stock turbo and stock tranny. i havent run with the close ratio gears and upgraded turbo yet. i dont like bench racing, but the tranny shows a .2 & 2mph gain across the board and i have much more top end pull with the new turbo so i estimate around a 12.5 or so. i also stripped another 100 lbs. but who knows, i may run a 13.1...
