I was driving home from work yesterday In my F250 Crew Cab 6.0 in a bit of a hurry since I had to get to my local speed shop before 6:00. I was in the hammer lane doing 70 in a 65 when I come up on this Mercedes in the hammer lane with a guy in a tie driving. No one in the 2 lanes to the right. I slow down and keep 3 or 4 lengths between us. When I see is is not going to move over, I signal and change lanes to go around him.
When I get to his door, he guns it and takes off. I'm like WTF? No problem. I continue at 70mph and then move back into the hammer lane when traffic comes up in my lane. The guy is like 8 or 9 lenghts ahead and when he sees me in the hammer lane again, he slows down until I catch him and change lanes to pass again.
This time I anticipate what he is going to do. Just as I get to his door, I floor the smoke monster and pull even with him, then slowly pull 1 to 1 1/2 lengths by the time my speedo is buried plus a few seconds. I then let out and the guy flies by giving me the finger.[sm=devilgrin.gif]

I was surprised my diesel actually pulled an AMG Benz. Aren't these things 13.0 1/4 mile performers? My truck has a Banks monster exhaust and six gun bundle.

 

It really depends on the year and AMG model. Not all AMG's are gonna see 13's flat. THey are very quick though. There like the SVT team for ford to thier AMG team for mercedes

 

Yes. Most AMGs are badass-at-least-13-second rides. I think they are all automatics. Some of the new V8s they got are just sick, man.

 

yea, with a banks six pack(especially if you got the whole deal, intercooler and all) our trucks are fast as ****. they are actually really quick stock, ESP from a roll where you can get the boost up. you most likely have WAY more power than he does, you are just a tank

 

Nice kill. Sucks that the guy was an ***. Your story reminded me of a guy in a S55 I came across while driving my old WRX. Sucker tried to run me off the road. [:@] Good to see you put him in his place.

Initially the S55 came with a NA V8. It wasn't until they they redesigned the E-Class and added the supercharged E55 that they came blown. Just look for a Kompressor badge just behind the front fender to know the difference next time.

That's a SLK55. He said he raced a S55. Mercedes models can get confusing especially since they have a SLK55, SL55 and a S55.

S55. They added the blower for the 2003 model. Notice the Kompressor badge.

THEY GOT FASTER IN 2003...THEY WERE EXPENSIVE AS HELL AND THEY COULD ONLY GO IN THE 14'S.
