I was riding the highway and a kid pulls along side of me in his brand spankin new GT it still had the dealer plates on it...I nod my head and smile...after he passes me I get behind him and we just ride for awhile then finally we get to a long clear section of the highway he goes in the right lane I pull along side of him were goin about 60-65 and I downshift into 3'd I keep on tapping my gas peddle so that my cars lurches forward real quik 2 c if he'll take the bate...I heard him downshift and waited for him to slam it... one second later he hit it as did I...we dead even for awhile and then once I shift into 4th my front bumper only is about 2-3 feet in front of his front bumper...I shut down around 120 or so cuz once we were in the high speeds I think the kid got scared and let off b/c thats when I put about a car length on him....

but one things bothering me w/ me HP and TQ numbers shouldnt I have pulled much more on a stock GT??????....cuz I was thinkin that the only reason y I didnt pull more is b/c my gears r shorter and we were goin from a role...cuz I remember when I had the stock gears put in and my car would just fly past the 100mph mark very easly...so do u guys think it was my gearing that didnt make me pull harder???!!!!!???

 

04s are just faster duhhhh . lol.

How do you know it was an 04 and not used 01/02/03 with mods? It very well could of been modded.

If it wasn't modded, you should go to a racing school and figue out how to drive that thing

 

haha funny dan lol....it was goin from a role so there was no skill involved in this race except the 3-4 shift and that wasnt a problem...maybe it was modded but it sounded stock and usually the first mods ppl always do to there car is exhaust.. and I dont kno for sure if it was an 04 but I was guessin....do u think it could b the gears that r hurtin my topend like that for a "stock" GT to b hangin only a lil ways back?

 

did it have an 04 badge all the other GTs have the GT symbol except the 99 they have the 35th badge

 

We have a couple of WRX's that race at my track and I have yet to see one get below a 13.8. Even the ones that are built. The guy says that in the winter he runs low 12's but I would think he would be a little closer than 2 seconds away just because of the heat.
