I've driven my gf's cousins '07 S4... 4 doors.. big weight.. AWD,, incredible interior..
but its quick for the weight.. i think he told me deep 13's is the stock time, and I don't doubt it...
they pull so steadily through the rpm range its scary.. you can look down, be going 20 and the next thing you know your 15 over the 55 mph speed limit.. and since its a nice auto, you dont even feel the shift, its just pull pull pull
and thats only the S4.. lol

Im not talking straight line. What Im talking is weaving at high speed, braking and accelerating, those are the conditions. Four wheel drive is hard to control, so Im thinking I should have an advantage there, plus I got low end torq and he dont, with a manual I can keep mine in the sweet spot all the time, he on the other hand would have to come in and out of it, and with four wheel drive it will be very hard to control.
Anyways, there is no penalty for trying.

oh and i also found this video of a modded M5 vs a 2006 rs4. I don't think you stack up next to an M5 and these cars are pretty even with a little of the advanage going to the m5 for the mods.

Even though he's heavier than you, he'll probally still out-handle you. Mustang's aren't known for their archaic suspension. His car is probally a lot stiffer than yours. Not to mention it's probally got enough electronic stability systems in it to allow a blind man to out drive your car. So.... AWD, Stiffer, Stability programs... yeah.. he's got you pretty good.
As for the straightaways.... I believe his +100 HP difference speaks for itself.
So, he's got you in the twisties, and the straights(Even with his automatic). Next question?

Um no. I raced ralley, fwd is much easier to control than four wheel drive. In theory four wheel drive will be faster out of corner, but you must control it right, without electronics is very diffucult. Anyway, I kinda have my mouth water when I see that car, I wanna do it.
But lifes a B and I have no license, so I cant. If I had license, I do for it and report results. I know this one could be a very fast one, tripple digits.
