Recent loses
I lost to what I believe was a turbo'd, suped out Toyota corolla. It was at night and It stumped me as to what it was, had some body work done, and definitely, hauled *****. Swore it had the toyota badge, but I'm not sure, he turned into the same neighborhood as me, so hopefully one day I'll find out what it is, and what hes packin'. Resembled a wrx.
Today I lost to a friggin Rsx-S, by about 1 1/2 car lengths by the time we hit 80. Are those turbo'd? If not I'm thinking he was.
I short shifted 1st around 4.5-4.9 rpms thinking i'd reel him, but nooope. He was definitely a stick, he banged 2 gears while I was in 2nd. Grrrrr I hate having an auto. I know if I raced him from a dig, I'd eat him for a sec and he'd play catch up, we rolled from about 20, I was behind him from the get-go playing catch up, 1st gear got me up to him and as I said I short shifted, after that he took on me through his 2nd, 3rd, and 4th.
Either my car is just hating life, and slow, or Colorado is starting to get some import rac0rz. I'm fearing I need to save up for a supercharger and some accomidating bolt ons. I know ppl talk down to autos, but we're not that much slower, I had a friend in his 00 stang behind me, and I downshifted to 2nd as he hit 3rd, and he couldn't pull. ahh what to do what to do. I think I have a busted tranny/motor mount as well, which never helps. =/

Dude, corolla wasnt turboed, no way. Who in their right mind will put a turbo on that thing? Nitrous, maybe.
I once "lost" to a corolla with some laughing gas. It was like so, I was making a U, he behind me. I made it hard and start pulling in 1st, then up shifted 2nd, and 3rd. Then I see that retard trying to race me and take the lane I have my eye on. So I down shift into 2nd, have him by two car length and afraid to go faster, so I 3rd it, hesistate with turn, and he goes by. He only won because he's crazy, I without license am afraid, especially in that area.
I noticed, I only loose when either a) I take on some exotic or a car with ***** that I know will kill me, or b) miss gears or dont get traction or dont shift at red line. If you do any of those its a guranteed loss, because you not building up momentum.
If you follow the process from the standing start and get everything right, it is a guranteed win 95% of the time.
If you rolling, then you must make sure you down shift into the right gear, apply right amount of clutch, and gas, then this could be Id say 80% win ratio.
Weak point with mustangs is that we dont rev high, most up shift and 2k, our sweet spot is above 3k. Ricers know this, I think they are counting shiftes, then when you going 30 in 4th they race you, bastards!
Try this, (I cant, no license [:@]). Next time you at a light and have an interested costumer, do your usual driving, show him 1st to 2nd, 2nd to 3rd, but then instead of 3rd to 4th, make it 3rd to 2nd, and make sure its above 3k rpm. If he tries funny stuff, apply some clutch and floor it, and release clutch at around 4k. Mmmmmmmmm.
Id also do a Schumacher type of thing, accelerate and turn right in front of him.

I think the same thing about certain cars, but ive seen turbo cavvies, corollas, Del Slos, etc. Makes a good sleeper. You should try and hunt that car down and find out what it was and what was done to it. I dont know about the last two or so years, but RSX-S's arent turboed from the factory. Just gutsy, lol

TRD offers a supercharger for the corolla...i know one person who used to have a blown Corolla S...and its no 11 second car, but for what it is, i believe that they are fairly fast...
