Default Proof drivers matter.

Ok, i have an 01 GT, my best run at the track (crappy track) was a 14.5 1/4.

Last night on my way home, i turn on the main street and a camaro SS flies by me so i kinda speed up and we both pull next to each other at a stop light. I didnt know it was an SS till i pulled up next to him (saw emblems/hood) he has a girl with him and looks at me like im a loser with a mustang... so im revin up waitin on a green light.

Light turns green and we are both squeeling tires but i catch before he does (I dont have drag radials) and my car is runnin like a bat out of hell. When i shift into 2nd i get a little sideways, but not too bad, and keep going. At the end of 2nd gear his front bumper is at my rear bumper... he is right on my ***... get a good solid shift into 3rd and for some reason... he isnt gaining on me... he stays on my ***.. (i have been destroyed by a WS-6 before, this why im confused/freakin out at the same time) By the time i shift into 4th he is a little farther back then he was and i let off at about 5500 rpm in 4th gear and he flies by me when i start hitting the brakes like the race wasnt over... LOL, i was laughing my *** off. My car only has 4:10 gears and i made him look like a little bitch... it was pathetic.

FYI - i know it was an LS1, i saw the headlights it was a 98+.... just the you all should know im 1-2 against LS-1's... and 1-0 with LT-1's

WAHOOO!!! MUSTANGS RULE!!!

Based on your gears I take it you have auto? That be harder to launch, especially with skinny tires.

If manual, your launch should be crisp with minimal or no tire spin (dont let clutch out that soon). Then smooth shift into 2nd, no crazy rear end into the neighboring lane, lol. Again, you dont just let the clutch out. 2nd to 3rd and so on, its power shifting, unless you saving your tranny from rebuild.

Now, he had a girl, I doubt he was racing you 100%. He was toying with you, because you said he hang with you. If you have a girl sitting with you, youll be spending all your time making her feel special, and racing is making yourself feel special, in other words thats not what players do. It is much more fun to toy around while you drive, than flat out kill someone.

What I would do is not race him, but keep eye contact with the girl and see if you can come up from her side on the next light. If windows down, make a compliment, if not, ask him to roll them down then make a compliment, or just say hi to the girl and dont look away first. If he start driving fast, thats his loss and your win.

In other words, if the other driver has female passenger you like, come out of the situation not faster but superior, make his girl feel turned on by YOU.

Wow, he must have been an extremely bad driver and you must have drove really well. Either way good kill but don't expect it from another LS1 again

+1 I've seen that done a lot. Usually with the 98-02 T/A front end on a 93-97 but I've seen a few Camaros too.

I don't see that front end swap too often, though I was out with a guy last night who's done it to his car. I just don't get the point.
It sounds like he really was racing you and he just didn't do a very good job. I beat a Terminator at the dragstrip because he screwed up a shift or something. It happens. Good kill.
