180sx
i raced a 180sx (think thats wat its called) from a 40 roll up to 120 last night and took him by about a car.. he was HEAVILY modded, lots of weight reduction, and said he was running 12 pounds of boost. his blowoff valve was super loud. could hear it clearly the whole race every time he shifted. he said he as putting down about 250 to the wheels i think.
Wow for a 180SX to hang with a Mach 1 that guy was pushing that CA18 to the limit. I don't think those motors can hold much more than the 250 whp he stated. Either way good for him, finally something a bit different.
180sx was Japan only. It was probably a clone made out of a 240sx hatch with a CA18DET swap (1.8liter turbo). They share the same chassis and most parts with the American 240sx except the engine.
Although if it was right hand drive, he might have imported it.

What was the car here in the US that came with the CA18DET? That's what the Mach 1 raced, not a swapped 240. I think it was a 180sx or was it a 200sx? It's like a mid-late 80s car.

I think some of the sentras or maybe the little pulsars came with a CA18DE (N/A version), but don't quote me on that. I don't know a ton about nissans, but I know a little about 240sxs because I had one for a while.
As for why you would put a ca18det into a 240 instead of an sr20det: So you can have a mad tyte jdm 180sx yo. :P

i admit i dont know much abut them, but my friend told me it was a 180. it was really quiet and had barely any exhaust note, but the BO valve was super loud. it was left hand drive. it had suspension work as well as weight reduction.
okay. i have pics of both. top one is same car with ****loads of names. 240SX (U.S.), 180SX, Silvia, Sileighty (everywhere else). the second car is the nasty 200SX. which is a 2-door sentra.

i dont know much about nissans either, but i do know it had a 180sx badge on the quarter window and it said silvia on the back. It did have an sr20 with 12psi, weigth reduction, and suspension mods. It was a fast lillte car, he pulled a half of a car on me but i started too reel him in till he shut down at 90 and we didnt get to race again. We raced from 45 and that is a horrible speed to race from in my car because of my gears. I know we would have both killed him from a dig. It was defiantly a fast little car, but it was ugly as crap (sone of the body panels werent quite the same color)
