Default Classic XR7 Kill

My buddy has spent over 6 grand restoring this car, just looks great (for a ford...merc if you care that much) its a 67 XR7 cougar with the 302? I think with a 4 barrel. Well, anyway, he just got his engine all broken in and we went out to this industrial road to race. From a dig, we go and 3 times I kill him, probably 3-4 car lengths, says when he gets it all tuned out and has his 5 speed in there, he might have me. I just laughed. His is a classic and might isn't quite yet, so I do respect his car, but it did open his eyes a little. Oh yeah, my car is a 93 Firebird Formula.

Its been chipped, has a K&N filter, its an A4 (automatic 4 speed), trying to get a pic thats small enough to put on here, no vids, and I have never been to the track. Man, this feels like an interrogation or something.

What exactly is chipped in LT1 sense? You can't chip an LS1, and I really thought you couldn't "chip" an LT1.

Is it just a drop in filter, or a full CAI?

Just edit the pic you have til it's small enough to fit. If you need help doing such, PM me.

Get a video camera, go to the track. This is an interrogation.

Actually, a 93 was the only LT1 that you could chip, the next year it was sotered in place, suprised you didn't know that . Its just a drop in K&N so it doesn't add much, but you asked. I like my car too much to go to the track with it, maybe once though, with everyone in the fam. Here's a pic

my dream car is a 67-70 cougar... dont ask why, but i love them. it kept up pretty well considering your driving a 4th gen f-body that runs probably high 13's.

Oh, I'm aware, just thought I would post it. Very clean cars, those cougars, I can understand why he's put so much money into it. I was spying over on the Cougar forums, and he wants to drop a 351 or a 390 into it so he can catch his "friends Firebird." lol

I could be mistaken but I think the xr7 is a 68. I had a 67 with a 289 but a 302 may have been an option.
It was a nice car ,but it was a cop magnet. Or maybe it was just me.

Its a frankenstien, half 68 half 67, but the frame itself is a 67 so he calls it a 67, but it looks exactly like a 68.
