GT vs. C5
There is a place near where I live where you will be heading up a small mountain and at the stoplight there are two lanes. About 200ft past the light they merge for the trip up the hill. So I line up with this beatiful yellow C5. Probably mid 30's driver with his wife/gf in the passenger seat. Good sounding exhaust (not too loud but nice and deep). We both look and take off when the light turns green. I hold my own til near the top of second. When I say hold my own I beat him off the line but he quickly was crawling away from me until the top of second when he started to run. It was just the regular C5 not the Z06 or anything. I didn't win but I held my own and might have surprised him a little bit that I hung with him like I did. I was surprised too I just wanted to hear him open it up. Gave him the thumbs up at the bottom of the other side and he turned. Twas fun.
C5's are awesome cars, not incredablely fast by todays corvette standards. But still low to mid 13's are nothing to sneeze at! I've run a few at the track and the vette guys would always get out and talk in the stageing lanes, usally very cool guys.
