I thought I would post this link to show you guys how far the rest of the world is behind the Bugatti Veyron...

Where is the Saleen S7? It would definitely be right on the Bugatti's tail. They both do 10 second 1/4 miles...

 

COUGH! The Veyron is going 155mph in less time than it takes most of us to run the quarter mile.

The S7 never seems to get compared against the big name cars, and it should be. I love the looks of those cars, maybe this is crazy, but they kind of remind me of a shark. I wonder why the 599 instead of the Enzo? I'm impressed at how well the 911 keeps up considering the large displacement disadvantage.

 

I'm with you 100% on that. The S7 is my all-time favorite dream car. I know there are faster or more prestigious cars than the S7, but there is something about that car that gives me a hard on. It could be the fact that not only is it fast, but also it is so well engineered and creates so much downforce that it could theoretically drive upside-down in a tunnel at speeds over 135mph [8D]

I can't remember where I read that, but I've always dreamed that it was true even though I'm not sure that it is haha

That has been Porsche's claim to fame for many years. Small displacement with big power. Subaru is working that angle pretty well too. Look for Chevy and Ford to keep increasing the displacement until the world runs out of gas.

 

Funny how other than the 911 the American cars are the cheapest ones.

 

Im not sure if youve ever heard of a Vector W-8, that too can drive upside down, I believe that it could do it @ 100mph, not positive on that figure though.

I read somewhere about the turbos on those cars, how the turbines on them actually change shape depending on how much air is flowing through them to reduce lag. It's some pretty technological stuff. I wonder how much boost that they are running on that thing?
