How many of you go and do research on different car models (aside from posts on this board) to get an idea of what your up against on the street/track?

I honestly don't. Unless it's for money. Other than that i'd rather be surpriced.

Well I've never been "called out" and end up running home to look up the stats of a car but I'm a member of several different forums and I try to broaden my understanding of what cars can run. I probably know more about DSMs than I do Mustangs. Another car type that I've been reading about a lot are Hondas. That way I know if a ricer is BSing me or if his car can run what he claims.

its always good to know what you're up against, and good to have respect for fast cars even if they arent your style

That's the reason I'm here. My car is the classic Mustang adversary and people here are always wanting to know what it can do. And of course I like to know how fast various models of Mustangs are.

I've been around for so long now on different automotive forums I could pretty much tell you the hp rating and 1/4 mile times for just about any type of "fast" domestic.

I know more about how newer Mustangs perform stock/mod'ed than any one I know....weird ain't it.
