Default New Edge?

Ok being a GM guy What the hell is the "new edge" is it a package to the GT? Secondly I got a friend at work who just bought a new GT/CS auto all other options. He want's to know what times it should run. I don't know I never ran one or even saw one run. This isn't one of those hypothetical who'd win scenario just he want's to know how fast it is. He said the dealer told him high 12's I told him I doubt that seriously here at memphis track which is usually .2 slower than most "best" times I've seen for any car.

new edge are the 99+ cars with the more defined body lines, its just an easy way to distinguish them from the SN95 or the ones with the more rounded body lines

New edge is the 1999-2004 Mustang Code name, 2005+ is called S197.

The GT/CS is just an appearance package on the Mustang GT. Adds some stickers but no power, GT's run on average mid 13's, and some good drivers have pulled off low 13's.

High 12's stock? maybe if D/R's and a CAI+ Tune is "stock" [8D]

For an automatic? That sounds kinda optimistic.

The auto in the S197 is a major step-up for the Autos in the stangs.

I would still go 5-speed though...

+1 That extra gear for the auto (compared to pre S197 autos) is what really helps IMO, but you can't make up the drivetrain loss (unless Ford got their hands on a 7 speed [8D])

BAN HIM!... oh wait.. sorry...

got a bit carried away

Like they said, 13.4's are very optimistic on an outstanding launch for an automatic 05+ GT

Tell your friend to go back to the dealership and find out which douchebag told him 12's and then ask him if he knows **** about racing

I already have a car as you can see but, i just love to go to dealerships and see how little these sales people know. I had a guy when i was buying my focus have to keep going to ask someone the answer to these questions i was asking. Then i got pissed and evenually i said please let me talk to the guy your asking these questions too because i'm sick of dealing with the middle man. Then guy was a idiot and didn't know sh** about cars. Thats why i was thinking of being a car salesman but, I just love the hours i work now. I would never be able to go back to working 40+ hour weeks.

K thanks all. My wife actually almost traded her truck for one. Blue stick vert. I was quite impressed to say the least when we test drove it but I couldn't tell exactly what it would run and given I drove a stick vert I didn't know how it compared to one of the auto hardtops.
