yesterday I was just driving from the mall, on my way there I was just crusing minding my own business, when I check my mirrors I see a camaro driving quickly behind me. He speeds up to me and tailgates me, I drop it in 3rd and floor it, he stays with me till I hit 4th then I start seperating from him, He follows me till we get to town, when he pulls to the side of me, he drives slow so we hope to catch a light. The Next intersection we catch a red. He rolls down his window and revs his engine. I didnt bother to talk to the guy, I rev'd back. The light turns green and I hit the gas, off the line I put a car on him, then in 2nd I put two cars on him, when I hit 3rd I pulled on him, then 4th I had around 4-5 cars on Him.I didnt gain much in 5th(overdrive)I finished around 120mph. His car was loud, he prolly had exhaust, I dont know what year it was, but it was a Z28 I would say it was around 93-95, the paint was faded and the weather stippings were faded, so it was older.Thats about the 5th camaro I raced and beat. I havent lost to a camaro. Im hoping to run into a LS1 and see how I compare.

 

Im sure you have more mods then what is in ur sig to be beating him by 4 car legths.But who knows he probally cant drive either, good kill though.

 

good kill man especially when it's a camaro. Victory is that much sweeter for me when I beat a camaro, never liked em, never will.

Im not trying to be pesstimistic but the LS1 motor is a heck of a lot meaner than the LT1 or whatever motor is in that year. Just figured i would tell ya..

where I live lots of people have camaros. there are a couple of 5.0's, most the mustangs here can whip camaros,my friend has a 90' GT hatch with a 347 stroker, thats a camaro *** kicker. 5.0's are *** kickers in general. with a few mods youll spank camaros, In fact speaking of racing I also raced a stock 04' GT and put 4-5 cars on him we got up to 130 when i shut down.The Gt even got the jump on me, we raced from a stop(I slaughter him), then we raced from a 40 roll (even more of a beating). The top end in my car really shines in 2-3-4th, 1st is a burn out gear, if a get a bad launch and 5th is overdrive.The low end power is awsome, way better than a 96-98' GTs. 99's and up have a good amount of mid-top end power, not as much low end torque as a fox body, but there up there, theyll give a run for your money with some mod's.

 

Cool had it to the track yet? I enjoy whupin camaro's too. I really do... they look stupid, dont ya think?

 

What do you run at the track? It takes quite a few mods for a 5.0 to take on an LS1, and that's if the LS1 is stock. You've got around a full second to make up, low to mid 14's compared to low to mid 13's. I've gone 13.38 @ 105 and mine is in the slowest setup they come in, an auto with 2.73 highway gears. A 6-speed should pull quite a bit harder.
Congrats on the LT1 kill, those aren't exactly slow.

 

I honestly dont think I can take a LS1,especially a new one. Its my goal to beat LS1's, I can beat most LT1's, When i took my car to the track my car was stripped,slicks,1/4 tank of gas,how I normally have it. my first run was 14.0@99, when I progressed through the night I was getting 13.7@104 and 13.6@106, my 0-60's were 1.9, 2.0's and up, I normally had a higher trap speed, just the acceleration was slow due to my 60' times. those LS1's run real quick at the track with slicks, high 12's, I have to due a bunch more mods to get into the 12's.

 

If you can trap at 106 than you've got the horsepower, my best trap is 105.89. If you can get a 1.7 60 ft and a 106 trap speed than you should be able to touch high 12's, faster than I've ever gone. Work on the launch and you'll have Ellis Juan on the run!
